One I made out of a old bicycle racing tire. The tires are lined with silk.

Here are several simple ones that I have made. The two larger ones were done many years ago using fairly heavy leather. When he was living my father did quite a bit of leather work and I picked up a few tips from him, including how to use a lacing chisel and rivets. The three smaller ones were done very recently using some thinner, softer leather from a Michael's craft store. Other than the one with brown lacing they were done with a Speedy Stitcher and waxed thread. I've yet to manage to keep my stitches straight! But, they do the job.

lots of nice slips in this thread

I did carry one for a while but these days i stitch a slip pouch in the front pocket of my jeans/trousers etc.

every pair so I can carry a AAA torch on the left and a pocket knife on the right

Anticipating the arrival of my new GEC #14 I started looking around for a small pocket slip, and was having a hard time finding one that I liked. The branding that most of the online knife retailers add to their pocket slips turns me off a bit, and this being the end of the semester I don’t have time to learn to make my own.

So after searching around lesser conventional sources I found a leather worker who mostly tools gun holsters, but made a few sheaths that I liked and asked if he could make me one of his small sheaths sans belt loop. He offered to do it for $15 and I absolutely love it.

Fantastic! Beautiful work and I think that's a great price.

There is a ton of quality work on display here. It is definitely something to be proud of. I wish I had the ability to do that kind of work.

Back in the spring, I went to a hobby shop in Ottawa and bought some waxed thread, an assortment of sewing needles for leather and a square foot of fairly thick leather. I then proceeded to make three slips to house my Case mini trappers and my full size Case stockman, as well as my Grohmann mini Russell. Well, they are unique for sure, but they work. I re-purposed one of the smaller slips to house my Olight i3T flashlight.

I'm now thinking of making one of those EDC Duz All's (like H&T makes) to house a SAK and my flashlight together. If anyone is a little timid to try and make your own slip, I say go for it. Since it's in your pocket 99% of the time, no one will see it.
