I'm assuming this is a solo mate, I was wondering if your blade sits centre or slightly to one side as if it was a two layer.

That's the Solo mate.. Definitely not perfectly centered, but as if t was a two layer? I don't think it's that bad, I think it's fine. In fact, it has bas centering than my Hunter Pro, & the Excelsior 1 has better centering than both, almost perfect.

I did mean to say two blade not two layer. Nice photo. I have one that's perfect and another that's way off. The solo is one of my favourites.

I think it’s ”off center” because it uses the same blade as the multi layered knife. In other words it’s assymmetrical as it is designed to dodge the awl that models like Pioneer have.

I've heard/read that before, but I've actually compared the 93 mm blades & the solo's definitely straightER than the others.

I don't know, it might be the case I guess..

I only own two Alox: on ‘07 Soldier, and a new Bantam. Like them both quite a lot.

Yeah, probably is the same blade, maybe a little straighter, but same design.

I think there are two main differences shown in the image below.

Rectangle A: Solo is clearly thicker near the tip, whereas other 93mm blades are thinner, to make space for a second tool I guess?

Rectangle B: it is clearly not straight, whereas the Solo is pretty straight I think.

I only have two. A farmer I bought in 2017 and this Cadet I bought in the fall of 2018. The cadet has been in my pocket almost everyday since then until the last few weeks even if I had something else’s there also.

Decided to slip it back in the pocket. It’s just so easy to carry.
