Show Time

David,

Very sharp sharpening signage made by your wife.....looks great!

And a "hearty yes"to your comment about the upcoming young men...it is needed, and will be well the more often that happens!

Not least. I am new enough to BF that I wasn't here for your last year's show. Very cool event, and great work/support to Buck (and many friends). Have a great day!

These big ranch boys track me down at every show to talk knives and have one tuned up. This time Brad brought his intended. Also a New Mexico State University student.
Great everyday type people. I like to see them growing up and taking the reins of their Father's ranch. After our visit, they left and I was thinking--- with young men like this coming in the wings, we are in good shape. DM

I think Hugh is wearing the same hat from when I was there. Show photo of wife's scrimshaw corner. It will be OK. Your gonna make me go dig around now, but I swear I have one of those "Pilot Survival" knife's. I thought it was just a less expensive 'Bowie' knife. I got it to fight bears but never did run into one.

Thanks guys. We made it home safe. Here is some of the Bolo-ties she offered. She also had an assortment of engraving work. DM [/UR]

Here's some guys waiting to in line to have their knife sharpened. They had all got a deer during the season and while grinding I heard some good deer stories. The big boy with a hard shell gun case he had just purchased had a Cabela's Limited Edition 119 with brass fittings and cocabola handle. A very handsome knife. It was a joy for me to listen and in turn give them a sharp knife. DM

Nothing like a Gun & Knife Show - it's the meeting place of the "gun culture" and always fun. Looks like you have quite a following among the young folks - good stuff. OH

Thanks David! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I would love to go to one of those Las Cruses shows if I can ever time it right being in the area at the right time.

Dave,
Once again, great job representing the BCCI. You are a fine ambassador and it is most appreciated. Wish I could come to that show some year.

Larry, thank you. Hope Smoltz is ready for Spring games.
Stumps, I would enjoy having you and the Convention Center cafe has good barbecue beef sandwiches. Then you could make a hike up around Reserve. DM

Hunter, at the time of that photo those guys had walked up and each laid down a knife on my table to be sharpened. So, I was nervously working. Hoping nobody got impatient and needed to leave. I can't really look around and talk, I just focus and concentrate and try to progress through them. Hence, the look on my face was no disguise. The atmosphere at a show is a captive audience to tell your story. So, it is a lot of fun. We had a great neighbor at the table next to us (Mike A.) who could fill in a moment with a funny commentary on life. I came away thinking, 'laugh more'. Life shouldn't be lived so serious. DM

looks like it was a good show, Sir. thanks for sharing with us all. almost as good as being there ourselves.

David does a great job of hiding his beer in the pics.........;)

Thanks, jbm.
Mak, with big, young guys like these,--- they could easily throw me in a head lock and take part of my display if their knife didn't turn out right... I'm glad to keep them happy. DM

Another great looking presentation at the show David. It sure is a great look on you in the last picture. I have to agree with your conclusions about laughing more. Life is short and should not be as serious as most would have you think. Thank you for sharing those great photographs and your wife's wonderful bolo tie work.

Craig, that IS Hugh's signature hat. He wears it when Trap shooting as well.
Gedd, thank you for your good advice. DM

Razor, thank you. Through the years we've only lost one knife and a dolly. Pretty good considering the all the miles.
Mak, thank you. DM

A photo of behind the display and Mike A. our neighbor over Leesa's left shoulder. Craig, will tell you a good neighbor is a real help toward pulling off these events. He carried boxes to our truck as we were packing when the show was over and I didn't carry anything to his. A genuine good guy and I'll track him down and pay him back. DM
