I love my Canal Street, and I wouldn't trade it for just about anything. However, if we're being honest, nobody does a clip point like GEC.
It would be nice to find one of the older clip point 77's from GEC... I really like the profile of that clip point blade as well!I love my Canal Street, and I wouldn't trade it for just about anything. However, if we're being honest, nobody does a clip point like GEC.
Bill Howard just kills it with the design on a clip-point blade. The 15 is really my favorite version though. It would be nice to find one of the older clip point 77's from GEC... I really like the profile of that clip point blade as well!

View attachment 1803062We picked up this Frary Boy's knife from an estate sale last week. My research suggests it was made between 1876-1884 in Bridgeport, CT. I've seen the handle described as both cast pewter and pot metal.
In 1880, James D. Frary received a patent for a similar handle with a whistle on the end. I'd love to see one.
I haven't found any photos of an Our Boy with this blade shape or any advertisements or catalogs that list it.

Maybe... if so, someone did a good job of making a useful nail knife out of it.I'd bet that the tip was snapped off by some young'n using it as a screwdriver.
