Very interesting Charlie, what exactly is the 3rd cut stag? Is it from the more porous centre of the antler?

At any rate it looks quite attractive. Any chance we’ll see it again?

It is prone to shrinkage because it is a bit porous, so mine is treated with CA (cyanoacrylate - a form of super glue)!
No noticeable change has been noticed since the knives were made!!

The first cut is the beautiful texture we know and love, Jack! The second cut has no texture, but is solid - and it is smooth, sanded or sometimes jigged!
The third cut starts to show the pith, an attractive texture in itself! But it should be stabilized as it tends to shrink due to the porosity. That said, I have an old knife that shows that porosity, and is fine and stable without treatment!!

Thanks AusLoX I searched quite awhile and for some reason I never attributed it to a 15hj.it is a beautiful knife and hj on a 15 to boot.

Was able to add a 14 Lick Creek barlow to the pile. It is a Charlie SFO and the bone is called ragg bone, beautiful little barlow.
