Show us your razors

it uses standard DE blades, those from le Coq brand had a characteristic star in the middle, i'll post a macro pic later on

it might be possible to strop them indeed, i'll keep them for when i got a strop.

ps. would it be possible to improvise a strop from a piece of leather(from a shoe perhaps) and toothpaste as the abrasive paste?
I use sandpaper now, but my finest grid is 1200, it makes really shaving sharp knives, but not quite razor shaving sharp knives ..if you know what i mean :D

If it were me, I would keep the old blades for display, perhaps.

Since the razor uses regular DE's, I think I would just go ahead and buy some of them.

ok, a bit late maybe, but here is a pic of one of those LeCoq razorblades

in the background you can see i swapped the old top with the funny rollerthings with another one from my Müle DE
this way i get the best of both, the lighter aluminium handle and a better top

Here's a couple of my one and only (currently) custom straight razor. It is designed and made by Joe Chandler from Mike Blue damascus (1095/15N20). The scales are African blackwood with brass wedge, pins and washers. Width is 8/8 overall from top of spine to edge.

Wow! That's a monster! (I mean that in a good way)

How does it shave?

--Mike L.

Really good. The edge is quite fine, and I get the "zipper" sensation as its cutting through each hair. However, with the wedge profile, it is appropriately stiff -- it just mows down the beard.

Here's my second custom straight razor that I just got. 5160 steel with anodized Ti scales and Italian Paela wood overlays.

This is what I have. Don't know much about this. Does anyone know anything about this razor?

Thanks redrover66, you are correct it is stamped with Ever-Ready, British Made, on the inside. Circa 1930, that's what I'm curious about.

I guess so, but I can not find SE blade around here, so I try to improvise. I snapped half the regular DE blade, and put strip of rubber (like from tire's tube) or mousepad under the blade to keep it in the position, it works. If you look closer to my last picture, you can see the rubber.

First one is a Tosuke. These hold wicked sharp edges. Great shaver.

The 2nd one is a Bengall... also a good shaver.
