I guess so, but I can not find SE blade around here, so I try to improvise. I snapped half the regular DE blade, and put strip of rubber (like from tire's tube) or mousepad under the blade to keep it in the position, it works. If you look closer to my last picture, you can see the rubber.

yeah i can see it, but what do you mean with "snapped half the regular blade"?

do you have to cut it in two maybe?

Here's a couple of my one and only (currently) custom straight razor. It is designed and made by Joe Chandler from Mike Blue damascus (1095/15N20). The scales are African blackwood with brass wedge, pins and washers. Width is 8/8 overall from top of spine to edge.

very very nice

Nuttin' wrong with either of those.
How do they shave?

Honestly, I prefer the Double arrow (reground by Kenrup) to the Dubl Duck, probably because the 4/8 Duck is too light.

I can't really compare to other straights, but compared to a Extreme3 they kick a**.

Stockman - Is yours (the Gillete) a WW2 Canadian military issue? I'm sure it was a common model, but it looks a lot like mine/Grandpas . Which reminds me I must find it and get some blades for it when I go back home. They have cool padded olive cases too.

Top one is a Wade & Butcher's Sheffield hollow ground, bottom is from Novelty Cutlery Co. Canton, Ohio

"Classy" and "cheap" do not go hand in hand.
And, they're called straight razors.
