Those are excellent Charles. Might as well put the ebony here also,it's very worthy.

Fantastic, John!!

I'm particularly struck by that fine ebony 2nd from the right.

Thanks, swaybacks are probably my favorite pattern. Yes, a couple are fixed blades. The ebony Menefee is tres wicked sharp, big fella sure knows how to grind!

John has a super collection of custom swaybacks. I've had the chance to hold them all, except the last Tony Bose on the left.

It arrived today and now i really get it, the fit and finish is superb i especially like the extended back spring to fill the gap between the tip of the small spear blade and the butt end also how the tangs sit low so they did not have to be rounded off,of course it would be nice if the shield was pinned but hey for $135.00 what can you expect, anyhoo here are the first pictures of Lttle Red with his new BFF..

First the obligatory Case Swayback Jack...

Followed by my first, a Frost Cutlery Black Hawk II, this was made in Japan and is very well made, I have nothing but great things to say about the old 80s Frost Cutlery products, at least the few that I've owned,, this one though is a definite 8 on a scale of 10.

An older one. 1930s? Schatt & Morgan Wormgroove Bone, Sheepfoot master.

Thanks, Will

This old swayback was made, I believe, by a company named Union Knife Works. The tang is worn and I can't make out all the letters. Knife Works is visible but the name Union ( I believe it's Union), is partially worn.

Here is an old Fabyan Knife Company 3 3/8" Swayback. Fabyan was a short lived wholesale importer late 1880's to early 1890's in New York, NY. Imported mostly from Germany and England. No country of origin on tangs so I will assume it is pre 1891.
