Show what you did with your EDC today.

One of the things I did yesterday was add some detailing to a spoon I recently whittled. Apart from the bowl of the spoon being carved with a Mora 164S, the rest has been done with my new Buck 124, which has replaced my Buck 119 as my EDC. I’ve carried that 119 every day for the last seven years, so it’s been exciting switching to my new 124.

Today I killed some vines that were plaguing trees.

Ill try to remember to get pics in progress but the Mnandi will do all cutting necessary to swap out my water heater today. My normal monthly inspection shows its starting to leak. If you notice the inspection tag you will see I got my money out of this old girl. Its great being a tradesman, one call and the supply house will drop the new one in my drive in a couple hours and Ill be done by noon with an afternoon off for a nice walk in the woods!

Work Knife Wednesday!

Is the steel the standard 420HC or 5160? Thanks for showing what can be done with a bigger Blade.
Thank you! I find well-designed 6”-7” fixed-blades to be the most versatile option for my daily life. The Buck 119 has served me well, and now this 124 is doing the same. Does everything I ask of it! :)

It’s 420HC. I’ve got a Buck 112 in 5160 and honestly I’d take 420HC over it. I am often in the woods during heavy rains or in my kayak, and I don’t have to baby the 420HC at all when it comes to water / moisture. Between the two, edge performance is about the same, from what I’ve experienced.
