Why did i even look at this thread?? Or where have I been that I haven't picked one up yet ? I know what I'll be looking at when i go to the knife shop over the weekend.

Small Pro and 345 with Diamondwood, I had several others in the FRN handles and gifted them away to my non knife buddies. They Love 'em!

I put some what I thought were dark jigged bone scales on a small select. When I went to cut them out I discovered they were actually bright red, someone just painted them brown.......went thru many frustrations doing this and then ended up taking them off and just having knife in parts for future project. In truth I never did get the durn thing to open ot close factory correct. I have some buffalo horn slabs that will be tried next once I get the moxie up to do it again. 300Bucks

That red and dark tone looks really nice though. Looks like it made the handles real thick.

That jigged bone looks like it would be amazing on a large Vantage. What did you use to jig it?

Today I played with my food...and my Vantage P=

Well, I did pick myself up a vantage this weekend, looks just like plumberdv's at the top of this page with the wood scales/346. My 8 year old son came home with a black select. After carrying it around since Saturday, I really like it! The wood gives me the feel of a 110 or 112, but with a pocket clip and one hand opening should I ever need it. I love the simplicity of the design. I know nothing of taking a knife apart and working on one, and with Buck, I don't really need to, but its so simple, even I could work on it if I had to.
I don't consider myself a knife collector(my wife would argue otherwise) I'm just always looking for the perfect edc knife and when I find one i think I'll like, I try to buy one to edc and one for a backup to keep in new condition in the box should something happen to my main one.
After carrying this one since Sat. I'll definitly be picking up an extra vantage or two!

My first Vantage. Great knife. Can't believe the quality of materials and design at this price point. Awesome knife, I'm surprised it isn't more popular in the general section than it is.

Checking out the cornerposts in western Kansas. 2012, long walks between pheasants. 300
