Couldn't find a thread anywhere for people to show the freehanded edges on their knives.
Not many things are as statisfying as sharpening you knifes freehanded... so relaxing... so zen ;)
Hope you guys have some nice edges to share here to inspire us all.

I'll start off with mt new Enzo Elver that I just touched up on my waterstones and strops.

Let me just say...

You guys suck!

But, no, seriously, that is some impressive work. I am so inept at sharpening I am lucky to fully apex the edge and remove the burr, WITH a guided system.

Truly talented if you can get that freehand guys. Bravo.

And nothing is complete without a Kasumi edge,

Sometimes it's what you don't see.

lol
I would have never posted a photo of that edge. That entire blade now needs to be re-profiled and shaped.
Classic case of " Now I have to start over because my point looks like the bow of a pirate ship."
The OP got it right. Paid attention to the symmetry of the blade shape. Put a beautiful edge on without deforming the tip.

May want to take a second look. The deformation you are seeing appears to be a camera reflected in that beautiful mirror finish.

That tip is sharper than your tongue ;)

Yes, you are seeing a reflection of the camera that is taking a photo. The edge is also heavily convexed so it's like being in a fun house.

Another photo maybe?
