I recently saw a listing for a HDFK that had SDFK scales on it. I don’t remember seeing anything on this before but are they a 1:1 swap? Hoping someone with both patterns can confirm!

My listing maybe ? Yes, they swap with no issues. Just remember that the SDFK scales have no lanyard cutouts.

Did you find them much different ergonomically? SDFK scales are thinner, correct?

They felt very similar to me, and i didn’t measure. The difference between FK2 and BFK scales is more obvious to me.

They felt very similar to me, and i didn’t measure. The difference between FK2 and BFK scales is more obvious to me.

I'd have to agree with this statement. I'm in the crowd that prefers to the FK2 scales (my FK3 sports FK2 scales right now). Because the FK2 scales has greater contours, I feel it's a tad more comfortable and stays more firmly in my hand.

I believe the HDFK scales might be a tad thicker as well (or at least in some areas of the handle). However, I don't recall noticing a drastic difference when I was fully palming an HDFK when it was fitted with SDFK scales.

My favorite Carothers knife.

I couldn’t agree. More. I wish they would bring this back with a few minor changes.i think a longer blade and handle, a pommel and no fuller . Convex v edge.i think it’s .22 if it’s longer and same shape .23.id pay $1000 a blade and that would be it.other than the Kukri.

How did you get you edge so clean like that?

We made a ton of the HDFK. It was a great knife, I'm sure we'll revisit it.

Let’s do it . Could you make the blade about 3/4 inch longer .22-.23 thick and extended the handle with a pommel and a solid handle like the SDFK but with jimping and lanyard hole and then no fuller. CPM delta 3v.Convex with v edge ? I’d pay $1000 per blade.

Is it still 20 DPS? Only the 2000 stone ?it looks amazing .
It is perfect knife but I would add a few things and change a few to help fit my needs. I love mine, but I feel nervous it could break.
