Show your red

Found a couple of similar threads (one was just about Case red bone and how it's changed over the years and the other red bone thread was from 2007), so I thought I'd start another.

I love red bone handles. There's just something about that deep dark red color in the middle of the handle that shallows up a little toward the ends. Feels so warm to me. Plus I'm sure it has something to do with my grandfather carrying red handled Cases as I was growing up.

I find GEC does a great, great red. I've had trouble finding a good newer Case knife in red until last week. There is an old hardware store near me (i.e. 1,500 sq. ft of product in a 1,000 sq ft. store) and they had two new Case knife cases. I've ordered two Case pocket-worn red knives on the Internet and both came almost pink in the middle and white toward the ends. This one, as you can see in the photographs, was just what I was looking for. Nice and smooth with shallow dimpling. Just excellent. Also nice to have a decent selection of Case knives nearby in case I need to scratch an itch.

So, show your red bone.

I've got five altogether; two Case and two GEC.
I think my favorite of my group is the blood red bone toothpick (GEC).

Stunning Hal!

The subtle red hues of this Scrade 2331 are much harder to capture than the two Case jacks I posted earlier.

I only have this one. I got it just recently to help me whittle away the summer. The scales are actually darker than the picture, quite nice really. My only complaint was that the factory grinds were dull as a butter knife. But, now each blade has been reprofiled and is ready to do some carving.

I don't have any good outside pictures of it yet but here is my Blood Red Calf Roper.

I love a nice dark red bone, those old Case examples are particularly fine...

Toddwalla - is that the 6344?
I have the same knife, and love it.
I don't know about yours, but mine is anything but "dark red" lol

Man, I still regret selling my version of this knife.

Wow. Those look great.

Sorry, I know it's not bone, but had to show the Tidioute saddle trapper in coffeehouse acrylic.

I've been on the fence about the acrylics but this one may push me to the purchase side.

That's the one. Definitely not dark red, much more swiss red. I got it because it was the only 3.25" stockman I could find that was also CV. I was nervous about the color when I ordered it, but was much relieved when it showed up red instead of pink. I am looking forward to pressing it into service soon.

Nice collection, Tony. But you still have to get the dogleg.

Don't I know it. Unfortunately the Bay has had a decent amount of 70s Case knives up and I've had a hard time resisting. I use to not care for the Stockman knife but now that's all I seem to research and buy.
