Show your sharpening skills ... what's the craziest blade you dared touching?

That's interesting. I found ZDP much easier to work with and take a polish rather than say S30V. Is one of my all time favorites. I wish I liked the acies line better.

^^^ How hard was it? I tried to do a William Henry at 67 Rockwell ... it was too much for me ...

I haven't had any problems with my Caly 3.5 in ZDP-189.
Just take advantage of extra fine diamonds.
I own a sharpmaker and i respect the system, but i have stuck with free-hand for years and it relaxes me.
There's also something satisfying about creating your own perfect edge without a crutch.

My problem wasn't the ZDP per se .... it was the 67 HRC ... I don't know if it is always heat treated like that ...

It was an AG Russell Acies2. Not sure of the hardness off the top of my head but I'm thinking it was 67. That sounds about right. Took me a while but wasn't really difficult per se. I've always had way more trouble with S30V. Though I'd love a CRK in ZDP or CPM 154 Cm. That would be a blast.

Maybe I need more practice. The funny thing is I have zero issues with S30/35 and even DT's damascus. Obviously a matter of (poor) technique ...

I don't think it is poor technique, more so just what you are more comfortable with. On ZDP, it is high hardness but not super wear resistant like S30/35V. For me that is easier to grind to my preference. I am sure your technique is fine. Tas for DT Damascus...well lets just say my pictures of my new knife will be incoming VERY soon.

I have to keep refining after work, but I'm happy so far. Already crazy sharp.

I'll post some better pics later today. Went back and did a bit more on the UF stone and stripped better. I really need .25 diamond spray.

Using the Edge Pro, I took the stock edge on this BM 581 from mild to wild by doing a complete reprofile and polish:

This Spydie TUFF came to me sharpened, I gave it the paper wheel buff treatment to reallly make it "pop"...

I gotta get a pick of my Strider SNG, I just finished it on the EP system...

Why work on any blade when one can experiment on a perfectly irreplaceable blade ... To tell the truth I wasn't happy with the original bevel. A couple issues needed to be corrected. The results are perfection!

Reprofiled amd polished my Wilson Combat Zaan. Made it a slicer with just one single 30 degree inclusive bevel on the wicked edge. One of the sharpest knives i own. My poor photo taken with my iPhone:

The factory edge on my small Sebenza Insingo and Mnandi sucked so both went through a reprofile on my EP. Not to a mirror finish since they are both users. Took them down to ~18 degrees per side and now they touch up great at 20 degrees per side on my sharpmaker. The micro bevel keeps the edge from rolling and still holds it for a decent time.

There are some pretty good looking edges that have been worked on! Nice work all!
