I would call it a tanto, because of the handle construction. Kwaiken (kaiken) for the most part are just tantos but normally for wear with a kimono or obi, and as such are normally wooden handled and sheathed.There are a lot of different blade shapes as well, but it dosnt change them being a tanto. Kwaiken are typically a little smaller, but the acceptable size range of tanto and kwaiken is almost identical.Is this considered a Kwaiken (Kaiken) or Tanto?
