Opinels :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I have them scattered all over the house and shop.

Sunny D, my Dad died in his sleep a little over a year ago. On his nightstand was the same model Uncle Henry. The main blade was broke off, and he had filed it down to something like a wharncliffe. I have it in the box with my grandad's knife which is a 47 pattern case.

I'm sorry to hear about your father.. Perhaps you could show a pic of his pocket knife at some point. I have seen a photo of your Grandad's knife though in another thread, very nice indeed.

Some mighty fine users showing up here.

I thought I had already posted this picture in this thread...here are the three that see the most carry time for me.

It's a 06247 - sometimes called a 06247PEN. It's the same pattern as a 6347 stockman, 3 7/8" long, but with only two blades and a single backspring.

One of the nicest pocket riders I have.

If you really want to get fancy, there is a stag version 05247SP that has a spey instead of a pen. They are rare and $$ expensive.

Vic Classic on my keyring and two stockmans that I carry on and off. Parker Cut Co. mini stockman and Queen carved bone small stockman. Used to carry a Victorinox Soldier, but I carry a LM Squirt instead now.

Vivi,
I just recently got an old beat up Parker Cut Co. "Leopard" lockback. It is sharpened down quite a bit with a few chips in the blade but the handle and bolsters are in great shape.
I like your mini stockman.

Sorry for the crappy pic.

Cool thread Pete!

I got this one 2nd hand, it has since been getting its fair share of 3rd hand use. Gotta love a trapper. :)

Looks like our grandfathers had the same taste. This is his Case 06247PEN.

Ain't that something? My granddad was always whittling on something, and he had some little carving knives and all for that, but he must've been hard on a pocket knife too, cause the other one I have of his is an old Boker USA stockman about the same size, and it's in worse shape.
