Well I haven't posted anything in quite awhile... and i was "playing" with my GW (favorite thing on this planet) and i realized, I beatin' the hell out of this thing (sorry for no pics... :() and I seen all these fancy knives that no one uses (IMHO thats dumb unless you got alot of money to look at :D) and not very many user pics. I want to see the most used, abused, and bruised knives anyone has ever seen. cut in half, shot at, what ever you got.

I DON'T have alot of money, but am a member of 3 knife clubs and have found a way to collect knives since I was a teen. So you think knife collecting is dumb:confused: It's been a very fun passion of mine for most of my life. I've used ALOT over my life, esp during the many years as a Butcher and also hunting, fishing, canoeing, backpacking, etc...

I only collect knives and guns, but many people collect coins, stamps, BB cards, etc.. I know all those people are not Dumb even though I don't do it.

I understand you though, because at your age I also felt it was kinda crazy that people collect things, then before I knew it I had way more knives than I could ever use(I started with much cheaper knives than Busse and others I collect now).

I'm gonna check back with you in 32 years(when your my age) and see what you got in your safe:D
And I'm not showing you my users:p

C'mon BG, lighten up with the opinions, Not that your not entitled, because you are, but because everyone has been so accomodating with your posts. Prolly not the time to lightly bash anyone! I have a safe full of "queens" because I want them. If I need to clear some lumber, I use my chain saw. It's much faster and easier. I have a bad back and really don't need to use a knife to clear lumber, even though I know I can. I know I have the greatest collectable knife there is. I love the busse knife and everyone that has one....collector or user! What else could have such a following and not be illegal? Nuke on young user, you are always welcome here! Yes, I take a knife out in the wild or the not so wild :thumbup: I will use it if my .45 won't handle the situation :confused: :D
 
ok maybe i shouldn't of used the word "dumb" (lack of words...:o) and like i said if you have the money its fine and even fun, but take Z51(sorry or singling you out :o) for instance, if he only has 5 or 6 busse and dosn't use a single one thats *blank* (if you can think of another word i would love that)

collecting is fun (i have many collections rocks, coins, knives, and i am starting to collect watches.) but if you dont use a single knife from a company or knife maker and you dont know their capablilitys and your spending around 3K for them that is dumb (in this case dumb is the right word)

I personaly think a knife looks better with age. it shows it personality. is it a work knife, a carver, or maybe a digger. My Game Warden has never looked better

and i don't know how you guys buy a busse and sell them. i get so attached to my blades as if there family. if i had a knife long enough i will go so far to save it. My GW is getting to that point.

You are going to find in life a lot of folks who do things differently than you do them. That does not make them "dumb", make their choice "dumb", or anything about them "dumber" than you yourself. I am not flaming you here, only pointing out that there are different strokes for different folks. If you find something initially annoying, why don't you try simply be more accepting? Really, what do you care what anybody does with their knives so long as it does not hurt you or your family?

Trust me, there are many things in life worth worrying about MUCH more than what someone else does with their money, knives, antique custom shotguns with gold inlay on the receivers, whatever. Have you ever read "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff"? If not, I would recommend it; it's a fast read and you might actually like it.
