Show Your Woods Loving Woman!

Not her best photo but it's about the only one I have of her doing outdoor stuff. We haven't had much time to do any outdoor activities since we got married since I've been in school most of the time, but she really enjoys camping, and actually goes fishing with me since I introduced her to it.

She won't hunt with me, but loves to hike along when I scout new areas. (Of course, she didn't know it was open bear season until she saw me strap on the .44!)

For her second degree blackbelt a friend and I took my wife and her testing team rappeling. Several had to overcome a fear of heights. More of a mental challenge than physical.

My wife - about as 'outdoors' as we've been lately. She isn't short (5'10") - the R.O. behind her is 6'6". I shoot a revolver at the range's Steel Plate Challenge - she hadn't fired a handgun in most of a year - and it had been several years since she fired that Ruger MKII .22. She won her division - and our lunch money - and trumped me, of course - no practice. She accomplished her goal. I'm about to take up stamp collecting.

I have tried to get her to go camping several times. Her first question was how were we going to afford an RV - that's what her folks call 'camping'! Oddly, this old Brooklyn guy thinks of camping as what you can carry on your back into the woods. She's afraid that she will miss 'Survivor' - or 'Lost' - without a TV. I'll get a picture from our next hike - even if it's just at the mall!
