Anyone notice how Busse Combat Knives came to expand with the US militray wars (Afgan and Iraq). Military groups buy all knids of stuff the public is never told about. Mike Stewart (BRKT) stated he had to get permission from the Marines to offer the Bravo-1 to the public.

LP I’m sorry but I wasn’t really trying to support you. I was just trying to get some information so as I could go to my boss and say “hay I was talking to some American guys over in the xxx unit and they are being supplied with Busse knives we should get some and test them out” But the security is so high here every body thinks I’m a terrorist trying to put a major government contractor out of business. Funny I saw on the internet that US SF were testing a new rifle I asked around and got invited to have a shot out of one. I hear on the internet that Busse knives are being issued but it’s so top secret no one will talk about it???????????

Kenn44 I know there are active servicemen, many from special units watching this thread carefully. Any soldier will tell you the worst part of active service is the boredom because a lot of the time there really isn’t much to do.

I think I am going to answer the original question (I think) and then only post when I REALLY have something constructive to add as I do not want to detract any further from this thread.

Do I have proof or insight on Busse military contracts? NO! But I suggest, as I have already, that you approach Jerry on this. I have sold to a couple of service men that were supposed to take their knives into the field. But that is as far as I can go on that.

I don't collect Busse knives but have a few that I use hard and occasionally torture. Busse knives are tough and I will go head to head with anyone, anytime, on this. I don't know if they are the best but they are the best I have ever beat on. And I know there are some other top notch brands that I still hope to own and torture someday. However, since that is clearly not the issue, as I suspected it might have turned out to be, I am going to tear some things up with my AK. :)

But I'll be watching.

I don't understand why you think that the customers of Busse would have any information about Busse company contracts. :confused: You are asking the wrong people. If you or your unit are truly interested, the only person to talk to is Jerry.

Resin Guy is right Billy, if you are interested in getting a deal going for your unit, then you really ought to call the shop and talk with Jerry. We the buying public aren't privy to the details you are seeking.

Here's the bottom line. . . we DO NOT give out specifics of any mil. knives that we run, even if we are given the okay to do so. . . . In the past, we have asked and have been given permission to sell a number of blades that possessed some type of insignia that was pertininent to the unit, group, or team that originally bought them.

I'm not really a marketing genius. . . I'm probably more of a marketing idiot! There are other knife manufacturers who bust their tails to get a NSN or a specific contract where they sell their blades near or below cost to the military and then capitalize on these sales by selling the same model on the civilian market at 5 to 10 times more than their contract price. . . . That my friends is the act of a marketing genius. . . Me, I'm just a big drunk guy who donates more knives to the military than most others sell to them, and I always ask that we NOT be named or given credit for these donations . . . I know that we could generate a lot of sales off of this info, but capitalizing on that info. doesn't sit right with me. . . I'll keep drinking though and maybe someday I'll see the light! :eek:

I'm so glad Jerry Busse showed up to talk.

I hope everybody completely understands at this point that he does not have any pictures of any military unit/group/team with his knives.

All those free donations and not a single "Thanks Busse" picture with all the operators holding their new knives? Ask yourself if that sounds right.

I don't even want to be right.
