Sick of this conus only crap

So if you had a knife sent from outside the US you would be totally happy for that person to have the full burden of responsibility lie with you ?

Simply the chance of lost package would be my reason. However, if someone like you came along, I would sell to you since you absolve me of responsibility. USPS is less reliable than they should be and hard to track once out of the country.

That said, I like aussies. I guess I feel a kinship since we all used to be POME's lol. If you need help getting something, feel free to PM. You cover it and I'll help get it to you free of charge.

Also if anyone is interested in or concerned about sending stuff down under feel free to send me a message and I'll see if I can point you in the right direction to find accurate information.

I look at it this way... the seller is limiting his audience by saying CONUS. Their choice and they seem to be ok with this limited pond they are fishing in.

I personally only want to pay with Paypal... I will not make the effort on those items that say Money Order only. My choice and I may miss out on great deals because of this.

I think it boils down to convenience... I don't want to go buy a money order. They don't want to go the extra step to ship internationally. I think it may be simple as that and not bias towards those outside of the US.

I did mention in my wtb ad ; I only want scales , a sheath and stainless hardware for my bk9. I can't see why customs would take those

You don't understand . The service provider forum , comes up when I click forums in the top left hand corner. The last post says private . When I open it after that , it says there are no posts in this forum. And once again I'll accept any risks with customs and or lost packages . I'm not gonna headhunt the seller over something that wasn't their fault.
The member that posted above this is incorrect. The service provider section is closed to discussion and posting by non-service providers. The reason it looks empty is because only service providers with an active membership can read and reply to threads. If it weren't you'd have every "knife pimper" under the sun trying to snipe business on the backs of those that pay for the membership. It is done to protect the service providers, now if we could only get the membership at large to understand that, we'd be in better shape.

There is no racism or discrimination against Australians here, that is a bit far fetched IMO. What we have are people that may not want the hassle of shipping anything overseas. Previous negative experience, anecdotal negative experience, or laziness are the primary factors. Heck, we have people here that thing the US is 48 states! Alaska and Hawaii get no love either. Now if you have an issue with a specific person (you mentioned 710), then you need to address that by itself instead of painting with broad strokes saying there is discrimination against Aussies.

Hhmoore nailed it. The question of legality is also an issue. Heck, a lot of overseas buyers don't even know what is legal or illegal to own. Some don't care to find out and want to use the seller as a test run.

Understood on the forum bit , my apologies . But trust me , a knife sheath , 2 scales and 3 screws and nuts is not illegal here.

I've shipped many packages overseas. The last one went to Canada and never made it to the buyer. The communications between myself and the buyer got a little colorful, and I ended up buying the lost knife back. I don't hate Canadians now, but I won't ship overseas anymore. I do realize that whatever happened could possibly happen here in the US, but that hasn't happened yet.

One solution that May work, is to buy and ship to a US address. Does the OP have any friends in the US? If so, then buyer and seller could be happy and not assume any risk. Seller would not be exposed to PP claim and buyer would know that his mate shipped the item. I have seen Surfingingo do this.

Yes I have found one person willing to take my mo , bank it , order me what I want and mail it to me. I'm also gonna add some extra funds as a personal thank you to him. It just annoys me most weren't willing to give me a chance to show I'm an honest man and knife enthusiast , and won't let me have what I want and work hard to pay for , simply because I'm not in their country and they CBF filling out a few forms.

Take a chill pill mate - all your posts above looked like you were angry. No hatred towards anyone as most have mentioned.

And there are folks who do ship outside US (including me). Have sent a Sebenza to Australia a few months ago and it went smooth as butter.

If you need something from the US, drop me a note choombak at gmail, or PM me. I'll get you wait you want and ship it your way, by your choice of shipping company. :-)

Nothing against any other country, but I just don't want the hassle with dealing with a international shipment. To many laws and every country seems to be different, and If I screw up guess who is gonna take the heat???

Sales and Ship CONUS only for this guy

You should of posted this in W&C Mate;) But back to your question I can and have shipped outside of the US as long as it's not a knife or anything sharp and the buyer's paying the shipping there should be no problem.

Continental US is also called 48 contiguous states. It doesn't cost anymore to ship items to Alaska or Hawaii, I asked on Monday when I was buying a MO at the post office. I was told as long as the USPS flat rate boxes are used.

wa wa wa

It takes extra time to sit in the post office line, fill out the stupid customs form and pray the package makes it over seas. Big headache. I do all my PO transactions at an automated kiosk so I don't have to stand in line during my work hours. I can go on Sunday or in the middle of the night.

Deal with it. Not everything is about you.

That's the only way we ship to Hi or Alaska at work so far no problems.

Your mistake is taking it personally. With the knife laws in Australia somewhat enigmatic to the rest of us, some folks make it a blanket policy. Education for those unaware is not a bad thing at all, however some will always prefer the simplicity of their comfort zone. If I were a businessman selling products, I would not want to limit my customer base to US only, after all your money is just as good as anyone else's.

I see you found someone to help. I was going to ask you if you wanted me to order the items you want and ship them your way. No hassle for me, but I am glad you found someone to help.

Thanks for being helpful...

After seeing your posts and accusations I certainly will not be changing my mind about USA sales only. I think many of us have a story about an overseas package getting lost. I understand that you are willing to take full responsibility but it does not sit well with me when I ship a $400.00 knife and it just disappears. That is why I do not ship out of the country it has nothing to do with how I feel about the people. I must say though some of your words are beginning to change that. This is bladeforums not whineforums!

Seriously . Conus only . So you won't ship to hardworking ppl outside the USA? You should be ashamed of yourself . And I'm very much noticing hatred towards Aussies . And after I paid for platinum membership , casually enquired if a member of here advertising services ships to Australia , I get told said forum is private ?

I'm not ashamed, nor do I feel you should take this personally in anyway whatsoever. It is simply a headache to ship out of the country.

That doesn't mean I won't do it, but i have a list of terms that are different from CONUS. My terms are the following:

-Buyer will pay the exact cost of shipping
-Buyer will choose shipping options
-I will describe the contents of the package accurately
-I will not be responsible for the package once it leaves my hands

Here are the problems I've run into:

-Responsibility? That term is gone once you decide to use PP "goods and services". You don't get the package for some reason out of my control, you put in a claim with payday, guess what? It just became my responsibility again. So now I have to force people to use PP "Personal", which I'm not comfortable doing.

-shipping rates, proper tracking and insurance. That shit costs a fortune, most buyers don't want to pay it.

-Customs, 75% of the time i've ever worked with someone internationally, I've been asked to call a knife a "Garden Tool". Have you ever had to explain to someone what a "Garden Tool" is. I'm not a lier and I certainly won't stand there and try to describe an emerson cqc or CRK, or Hinderer, or Benchmade, etc. as a "Garden Tool".

Post office shouldn't asking you what is in the package, aside from "any batteries, liquids, hazardous materials, or fragile items?" Because frankly, it is none of their business to ask, although a few postal employees feel that they can ask, and it is still none of their business, as long as their list is cleared.
