Oh OK, well since I am getting a fast response from you. What knife would you fork over 1/10 for to do this??

If I could do that right now...yes, I would go for an SnG:p

But I am most likely going to be acquiring one of the Buck/mayo's in late january so I have to save;)

Regards,
Steve

P.S. Sorry it took so long for a response:o I got so many damn windows open....

P.P.S. I also should note that even an inexpensive passaround..say for a SERE would be out of the question for me at the moment. Since I'm 15 and can't get a job I don't really have much 'experiment' money.

You guys are coming up a little shy...

Now, just so we're all clear here, I've got the $42 and I'm ready to play, but two 'things' need to happen before I send my hard earned cash to someone that's obviously smarter than I am...;)

No, actually, now it's three things...just cuz I'm a suspicious little bastid...

1. Can I 'use' the knife...like on a camping trip for small tree limbs and such? (For crimminy's sake, I'm 41, and have a half dozen other knives that will do the same job, but I'd like to compare them, not abuse the S/F knife...) If no, then no...I'm out.

2. Can we be a little more flexible on who receives the knife next in line, and how long they get to keep it? I personally have zero problem with the knife going to someone else if I can't receive it when my turn comes up, nor do I really give a RIP how long they keep it...as long as I eventually get a shot at it. (You guys really don't travel as part of your employment? Must be nice...lol) If no, then no...I'm out.

3. Who is/was doing the drawing again? Someone not involved hopefully.

Mel

p.s. You could always blow off this knife, pick something else, tie up all parties with inflexibility...and then start the process over, and over, and over again...lol ;)

1. I guess so...
2. I could probably make sure you get the knife when you could use it, but I would prefer if it is kept under a week. A week is already long for a passaround.
3. Each person is assigned a number and the first digit from a predetermined lotto is the winner.

I not running this passaround but I'll throw in my two bits.

Passarounds are a cooperative enterprise where people got a chance to try a knife in the hand plus a chance to do a little cutting and carrying.

Melvin-Purvis, no personal offense meant, but it sounds like what you want to do is what you want, as long as you want, when you want, all for the same price. IMO, that's not a passaround, that's a rent to own program.

Yeah, I am not trying to be a D-ck either, its just with 10 people and a estimated two weeks per person with shipping, Thats already going to be damn near 5 months, thats why I say be strict on the 1 week then mail part. As long as someone is not purposly trying to screw up the knife, I don't care what anyone uses it for.:)

MP, I'm not being flip, but you could start as long as you want, do whatever you want, have it whenever you want CRK GB passaround.

In fact, because of the type of knife this is, it may in fact be a preferable solution as there would be more people who may want the rules to be more in this manner. You have a good point concerning that current passaround standard rules are somewhat inflexible.

Just as the passaround + raffle is a new invention from previous passaround methods, there's every reason to start a "hardcore" passaround style for those that prefer it.

And if us wimpy wannabee's want to play in your passaround we can or not. :p

True. This is only the second attempt at a "buy-in" passaround and raffle. If you want, you can create your own passaround that would allow you the flexibility you need.

As TheBadGuy mentions in a different thread, there's the Surefire passaround + raffle too.

'2smart,
I would like to get in on this but like others- shortly b4 XMAS is no time for me to reach for cash. My wife has great reflexes!! LOL Maybe start up after the 1st??
Later.

I doubt this will get off the ground before Christmas anyway. I won't require any money until I have ten people signed up. Want to be added to the list?

'2smart,
Sign me up! I will have some cash to play with after the first Fri in Jan. I recently bought a CRK Shadow III without ever handling one, wonderful knife but the grip fits my hand for S&*^!! It would have been worth the money to have known first hand plus this way I have a chance of getting one for cheap.
Now I have a never used/ only handled once knife to sell !! LOL
