How about this. We set a date at the end of NFMee's time and determine a winner. If the winner is willing, the knife gets sent to me to check it out and sharpen it. Otherwise, it gets shipped straight to them, their choice.
 
Unless the professional sharpening is done by CRK, I would rather just receive it in it's current condition. I don't really trust some of those "professional Sharpening services". Will they keep the convex edge, or grind it down to a v grind? Will they damage the temper because they use a grinding wheel so they can sharpen many knives a day? Just too many variables. If I won this knife, I would only trust CRK or myself to do the job. Besides, I polished the blade up quite nicely if I do say so myself before I sent it to DaveH, who didn't even use it anyway. I also was able to maintain the convex edge from the factory by just honing it on my leather strop. It should still be in quite nice shape.

Yeah I would probably opt to skip the sharpening myself. I am just excited to get it if I won. Don't worry I got a new digital camera today and if, umm when I win I will take a few pics to show condition.:)
 
Oh shoot, I forgot to post pictures of hammering it with a 5 pound sledge through a concrete block.

Well since all the particpants get the choice of weither to send it off for a Pro Sharpening or have the stuff sent directly to them. I figure that would mean we can set the raffle date one week from when NFMee received it right??

(edited to add) Knife was recieved on 21st, so how does Tuesday the 28th?? Mid day drawing

Yeah if knife is won on Mid day drawing and shipped that evening or even the next, you could have her by the weekend:)
 
Good idea with the winners choice. If I win it is going straight to CRK for double thumbstuds, sharpening, and a polished blade.

Should look like new.

Whew,

Good thing I checked this today. I've been away for a while. I was about to mail it on monday. anyway, I will hold on to it (damn!) until the winner makes the choice. Obviously, the easiest answer would be for me to take it back out of the box and put it in my pocket after I win, right?

Anyhow, the knife is in the same shape it was when I recieved it, I didn't cut anything with it, just opened and closed it a lot, and, yes, I did get the hang of it. I'm just hoping I win so I don't have to drop three digits to get one for myself.

I'm taking a new approach, complacency, if it's meant to be I'll win, and If not, oh well.


You know what, I'm full of s**t, I want to win this knife so bad I can taste it.:( :) :D
