Signup: Strider SnG Knife Passaround

Guys,
Maybe this is a dumb question, but why in the hell can I not get the Surefire's tail cap switch to work? I put the batteries in it, and the switch does not seem to work. I think I'm missing something! Can you tell I've never owned a Surefire?!!!!

Make sure the tailcap is twisted in pretty close to the body of the light. Then, the button should work. If you twist it all the way down, the light should stay on.

3rdWound mailed it on the 5th. But The 17th sounds good to me. I am ready to put this one in the books. The 17th is a Saturday. Do they have a mid day drawing on the weekends as well?? Thanks

Yes, they do.

How exactly does the drawing work? Sorry, I've never participated in one of these.

Well then, why don't we make it the 14th?

Check the completed passarounds for more info on the drawings. Basically, everyone gets a number 0-9 and the first digit of the Mid-day CA Lottery Daily 3 wins. In this case, the one who matches the 2nd number gets the surefire.

Sounds simple enough. How are numbers assigned? By the sign-up order? Thanks.

So does it start with zero?...or is zero considered 10?
and what happens if the number winds up being the guy who withdrew from the raffle? then what happens?
Sorry, but just wandering:confused:

Guys,
Upon closer inspection, I see that you boys have been using the SnG! I see someone just ever so SLIGHTLY broke the tip off. Now, before everyone goes crazy, it is NOTHING major. In fact, I shouldn't even call it a "broken tip". This can be easily sharpened away, but it is slightly noticeable.
I am still stumped on the Surefire though. I have tried the batteries in both ways and it still does not come on. This could be due to dead batteries, and I don't have any others to test in the light.
I have no experiece with Surefire lights, but the tail switch does not appear to work as I would think. I push the tail switch, and it does not move or anything. No clicking noise at all. Can anyone explain? Thanks fellas.

Try screwing the butcap all the way onto the light. If it doesn't come on then you might have dead batteries, especially if they are the ones that came with the light.

Edited for spelling.;)

The tailcap on the Surefire is not supposed to click. It is a momentary switch. When you press down, the light should activate, and when you release, the light should shut off. If it doesn't work, the batteries are probably dead or the lamp is broken.

Guys,
I am almost certain the Surefire is NOT broken. I think the batteries are just dead. Don't have any others to test it with. Oh well.
So what is the verdict? Do I need to ship the knife back to Steven, or straight to the winner. Tomorrow will be the last day of my week. Thanks fellas and let me know.

It would seem to me that it would make the most sense to just send the knife to its new owner. Why bother sending it to Steven and have him send it somwhere else?

As for the light it is a shame you didn't get a chance to us it. I was really impressed with it, gave off a lot more light than I expected. The only downside is that it takes the expensive lithium batteries.
