Since you first started to EDC...

From age 12, some knife(s), multitool(s) or another every day not prohibited by regulations or inappropriate. Among people who know me, I'm Knifeguy. And I use them every day. That's about all I have to say on the subject.

I have carried a knife off and on since I was 12 or so, after I joined the Boy Scouts and it became accepted by my parents that I could have a knife on me. I had already had knives before that point, but I never truly carried one on a regular basis. I didn't really have much in the way of "knife friends", since the other Scouts all basically tended to have SAKs or Gerber or Buck lockbacks, same as I did. It wasn't until I graduated high school that I bought my first "higher end" knives which were SOGs at the time, my first being a SOG Mini X-ray. From that point, the amount I would spend per knife became much more, and more flexible, especially as I got more into the different steels and such. I can honestly say that for the last 25 years or so, I have truly had a knife in my pocket nearly every day, many of which have come and gone from my collection.

I still have that Mini X-Ray though. Maybe I'll carry it tomorrow for old time's sake!

If I'm in the house, I may not have all the junk in my pockets, but I'm never far away from a knife/flashlight/pliers/hammer drill....

Hopefully, a routine cutting task never turns into something that needs a hammer drill. :o

If I leave the house, it's knife and pry tool at least. The light gets added next, and other stuff depending on the day's activities, right up to granola bars and a change of socks! (Haven't had to do that for a couple years. It's kind of nice to live close to my job)

Have had one on me everyday since I was 7. First, a little solingen slip joint my grandpa gave me. Then Swiss army Alox. Then when the first leatherman came out, I carried that everyday. Then I bought my first high dollar knife. The benchmade EMERSON. carried that everyday. Even at my IT job. Then got a Kershaw and crkt when they first came out as beaters. Somewhere around 10 years or so ago, things took a turn and I went from a hand full of users to a couple of dozen users. Now. Trying to figure out why I need a couple dozen user knives. Realistically speaking, one benchmade is all anyone needs as a user. These knives will outlive all of us easily.

I've been carrying a pocket knife on and off since HS ( 1973).

When I bought my first house in 1988 and with all the chores around the house , I realized it was handy to always have a knife in my pocket.

Carrying nonstop since I was a teen age kid, I'm 44 now. I had pocket knives since grade school but I didn't EDC them until I was about 15.

I started carrying a knife when I was about 9 and still do right into retirement. Family has promised to strap on one of my fixed blades to my belt when the time comes to bury me.

I stopped for awhile when I had kids because I have a tendency to misplace things. Oddly enough, putting together an EDC that includes more items, not less, has kept me from misplacing things. I know where everything is at all times.

I always carried a knife growing up but until a few years ago it didn't matter which one. I wasn't into the hobby like I am now. What got me really interested in knives was that the pocket clip screws on my Leek kept coming loose and I didn't have right tool to tighten them. I Googled something like "Leek pocket clip screw size", came across BladeForums and from there I was hooked.

I have had a knife in my pocket since elementary school. So over 40 years. The only time I do not carry one is when travelling either due to air travel or the country I am going has strong laws against it. Like Mexico.

I feel like I've carried a knife of some kind (pocket or folder in a sheath) since I was a teenager 30+ years ago.
I had spyderco from early on, i think i had an original clipit, and moved to enduras and always had a small Buck lite or Gerber lock back in my front pocket.
I'd say no I've never really been with out a knife since 1985 or so.

I started a new job recently where pocket knives/knives period are forbidden on the premises...

I steel either have a knife inside my waistband, clipped under my belt and covered by my shirt, or my new Buck 616 bootknife inside my boot and covered by my pants (or both).

And if one day I'm fired for carrying a knife against company policy, all I have to say is, priorities! I'm not going without a knife! Even if I dont'/can't use it, I'd rather have it and not need it, then ever need one and be without.

Nope...If I'm wearing pants, I always have a blade (or2), a flashlight, and usually my Vic Swisstool on me, amongst other things. Even when I'm just wearing shorts and no shirt around the house I carry a knife and light. Once you get used to having them handy it becomes annoying to need and not have within reach.

I've carried knives for quite some time--maybe 25 or so yrs since I was just a boy. My 1st knife was a white Victorinox SAK; don't remember what it was called, but it was the really small one with a blade, flathead screwdriver/file, tiny scissors, and of course the toothpick and tweezers.

As I got older, interests and styles changed and these days it's either a flipper or a small fixed blade. I don't own a cell phone and don't use a wallet. I own several handguns though. A S&W 386 .357 comes with me everywhere. The other pistols stay at home b/c NYs CCW permit is a (huge) hassle to obtain. Cash, keys, knife and pistol are what I carry.

I have always used knives since I was a kid. I first began to get interested in them when I was 14. From then I was always carrying one everyday (except for at school). I am only 16 and I will carry a knife pretty much anywhere I go except for school. In today's society if the school new a kid had a pocket knife they'd flip and the school resource officer would probably shoot you. So yes I do stop carrying from time to time depending on when I have school.
