single alox colored sak days are gone

...With my old Farmer and a model 5WR Vise-Grip plier there isn't a lot that I can't fix. That combination is more useful than most of the pliers-based multi-tools sold, in my opinion. Look at the Vise-Grip line and think about it some. There is also a model 4WR, but it's just a little too small for my tastes. The number indicates the length in inches, the W means it has a wire cutter in the design, and the R means it has rounded jaws, as opposed to straight jaws. Speaking from long experience with them, I believe that the WR Vise-Grips are the most useful type generally.

Vise-Grip pliers are awfully handy. I know a few people who pocket carry them.

You might find it interesting that Schrade made a couple of different multi-tools based on Vise-Grip pliers. And they actually manufactured one for Irwin, the Vise-Grip Toolbox. They weren't the best quality but Kershaw made a really nice multi-tool based on a folding plier, the A100C. It's not as compact as the Leatherman Crunch but the A100C is one of my favorites (I have a lot of favorites! ;) ).

How do you make these? In collaboration with Victorinox? Or do you disassemble and reassemble other models of Swiss army knives?

Also, the magnifying glass looks different from the ones on the Victorinox Swiss army knives that I've seen at the store. Isn't the lens usually encased in grey plastic? The clear one looks much better to me.

Pictured is the 'new style' Vic magnifying glass -- I believe it's being rolled out on Vic models with a glass soon if not already...

Roger gets these done in limited numbers by Victorinox factory. The magnigier is the new model and is now available on new Explorer models. It privides about 30% increase in the lens area. However, some people commented that the new magnifier does not feel as solid as the older one, and the length of Phillips is sacrificed to make space for the larger lens...

it depends on what it is, mainly mr elsener make small runs thankfully for me or i assemble factory parts or i work on factory parts like the messed up alox and they assembly it...

sorry, its an bit complex to explain but the results speaks for itself...

Roger any projected date on the Alox Trekker?
I tried to read the thread at knifeforums but i had problems.
I tried to login at knifeforums but theres something wrong with my account?
I never logout so i shouldn't have to log back in, and it doesnt like my password anymore! And even though they sent me a new temporary password it doesn't want to accept that either!
Argggggh! Doesn't anybody else here wish knifeforums would use the same format/software as bladeforums?
I spend 50 times as much time here as i do at knifeforums. A lot of that is because because of the clunky counterintuitive format/software knifeforums uses.

Please forgive the noob response here, but I suffered from confusion at knifeforums too. When I log in, it takes me to a login page (??!!?). I found that if I just click on the "Forums" button at the top, I'm actually in, even though the login page would suggest there was something wrong with my ID or password.

I hope that helps, but if I'm teaching you to suck eggs, my humble apologies. :)

Yeah i always just click enter forums. But today apparently i really was not logged in because i had no access to "my fusion" or the search engine. So i tried to login and it wouldn't let me. So i did the temporary password request. It sent me the temp password i used it but again it didn't want to let me in.
I did however FINALLY get the !@#$! thing to work! It must be a dozen times i've been through this at knifeforums. personally I find the software and format they use to be kinda clunky.

we work on the alox version, needs time, the starting basis will be the oht pe sg and for me quality is more important than fast delivery and money.
