I was hoping someone could point me to some options for new single-bladed folders with a sheepsfoot/coping style or wharncliffe blade. I'm aware of the Lionsteel Dom and actually have a Viper Swayback but I would prefer to find something in a fully traditional style. I'm also a Case Swayback and Teardrop fan but was wondering what else is out there. My only other criteria is it has to be something I can actually buy, so that kinda rules out GEC.

(edited to include wharncliffes as an option)

Case does a pretty cool single blade sheepsfoot 11031 that comes up on the auction site pretty regularly, I’m not sure if they are still in production but price-wise they can be found at decent prices (my opinion).

MAM makes a nice functional one. Very light in the pocket, and at least as slicey as an Opinel, if not more so.
I have the pure friction folder version, but they also make one with the old style "Push To Release" tab liner lock.
I think I paid around $12 for mine. The liner lock version is a couple dollars more.

EDIT: Blade is 3.25 inch, bolster to tip.
Closed length is call it "4 inches", maybe a 1/16 under..

You may also consider the Rough Ryder Classic Carbon II Half Hawk.
Solid single carbon steel sheepsfoot blade, half stop, micarta handle. Very modest price.

Other models of the RR Half Hawk have a second pen blade too, which is a very helpful addition to the robust sheepsfoot blade IMHO.
Oh wow. I really like this. Being carbon I guess it will patina too.

Has SMKW's website been down the last several weeks for anyone else? I haven't been able to go on it without a connection error in a while.

I'm also open to options with a wharncliffe blade too. The Case Swayback is the only one I'm aware of at the moment. I also know about the GEC Viper but like I said, availability is important.

Maybe you can find one of these by A.G. Russell on the secondary market

Of course, what you really need is a Lambsfoot! :D ;)

Have a look at these French knives from Au Sabot, some carbon, some stainless, some locking some spring knives. About 10.5 cm / 4.5" closed

Think Rough Rider makes a large Wharncliffe similar to GEC's Viper but in Micarta and stainless.
