Are my eyes deceiving me or does that knife have verdant stag?

Nope, I see it also. Is this the inevitable outcome for stag covers with brass liners? As much as I sweat at work my #82 would have more verdigris than steel

Unfortunately, your eyes are not deceiving you, the brass bleed monster in action...:poop: It's not the only Stag knife or pale bone knife I have that shows it, even a Muslin Micarta is greening up... Perhaps it's my chemical sweat?;) Whatever, it's not cool.

Strange. My primary carry is my stag 73 and I've experienced no greening. I carry it at least six days a week too.

On the other hand my Eye Brand stockman has a serious case of verdigris.

Hmmm...

I've never seen or noticed that before. It's visible in the pin areas too. Crazy!
So, it's basically a patina or verdigris from the brass liners that grows over on the bone or stag....

It seems to affect some knives more than others, pale bone, muslin micarta, Stag seem to be the targets. It might be due to the brass composition I suppose or a chemical in the individual's hands. The latter seems likely, I have a some CASE knives, GECs , couple of Queen WCSB and a Northwoods Forum Knife all greening away like spring. I even noticed it on the pins of my Aitor knife and that's Bubinga wood and all steel liners! Must be me:( Insects are wildly attracted to me and bite me pitilessly:eek: Other people they never bite....

Wow, 6 day a week carry. You must really love that knife. 1 more day a week and it could be your one and only.

That's nothing. I actually EDC'd it for a few years. Then I got twitchy. I'm still a knife nut, that's why I hang around these parts. I can't be a one knife guy, I'm just not wired that way.

Truth be told it's not my favorite knife. If I were to choose impartially, there are at least three or four others that I like better. But this is the knife I treasure above all others as it was a Father's Day present from my wife and daughter years ago. This is one that is truly irreplaceable.
