Single Blade Trappers

Jared Oeser wharncliffe trapper in 154CM and antique brown micarta. Quite possibly the sharpest knife I've owned.

My prettiest one, a linerlock Northfield Pioneer in primitive bone.

Holly cow, what a great collection! ....Which ONE is your favorite?

Thank you. I've used most of the HMTs except the 2 new ones, the 2 GECs with patinas and each of the Queen Utilities. I'd say the Sunset Smooth bone HMT, first pic second from the right is my favorite. It was the one that introduced me to the pattern when I first started getting interested in traditional knives (It was in my 2nd order making it my 2nd or 3rd traditional knife... .) After that, it would probably be the burnt stag GEC #48 followed by the Snakewood #48 for its story. I had gotten interested in traditional knives around the time the GECs were introduced. By the time I decided to get one, the snakewoods were gone. I emailed GEC asking if they had anymore or knew of dealers who still had them. Ryan Daniels replied and offered to sell me his. I used it a little bit but should use it a bit more...

Hello, I am new to the Forums, but I personally like the Case Trapperlock 3154L CV I use as my every day carry. I like it's traditional Trapper pattern, but it's one handed opening via thumb stud was also a plus. However it may not get much love here being a liner lock. Let me know what you think guys. I hope i don't offend anyone here in the traditional section with this, but you can't get more traditional than a W. R. Case.

Beautiful knife.

Also, if you don't mind, what knife is that pictures in your avatar?

That is awful close to being my ideal pocketknife.

The avatar pic is a WIP shot from Ken Erickson, the same knife that you wanted to know what blade steel.

I really like the Canal Street Half Moon

The blade length to frame length ratio, where the blade is very long for the frame size
A superb steel
Very light and thin in the pocket
Good F&F
A great price

Olive wood
