Friends, I've always liked the single-spring knife for its ease of carry, slim lines and the way a well-finished one really shows the cutler's craft. Perhaps you would like to add your knives in appreciation? Thanks, Will

Single springs are great, so nice to carry! I mostly have single blades now but have a vintage Case 06244 that I love and I think I'm going to order a 66 calf roper slim this week.

Nice collection Will

Got more info on that s&m? Looks very nice.

How do you like the pair of slims? The red saw cut bone has had my attention from the beginning :)

I love the precision that goes into making a good single spring knife.

Here are a couple of single springers, with a 2-spring knife at the bottom to show the difference. These are all nicely finished, but the single springers are more suited to summertime carry in light clothing. I definitely appreciate single spring knives!!

I am a huge fan of single spring slipjoints, of course I only like single bladed slipjoints so that pretty much makes me a fan of single springs.

Big fan here! This is my northwoods (made by queen) canoe, which is not of my favorite weekend carry knives:thumbup:

I'll see your single springs and raise you some single blades. ;)

Will, here is one you should be familiar with:

And here is another old beauty, with the especially nice cap bolsters.

Beautiful examples shown. I love the slim feel of a single spring knife. I am also drawn to the precision of multiple blades utilizing one spring. I have a Wostenholm senator pattern that has four blades with two springs that is precisely fit into a slim package, about 10 millimeters total thickness. The blades are flush in all positions with half stops and the tangs are flush at the ends. Great walk and talk after over 100 years and no blade rub with the offset grinds. That kind of precision with imprecise tools is an amazing feat of cutlery. That's what makes multiple blades on a single spring grab my attention.

Sorry for my ramblings.

Thanks! The Schatt is from their Keystone series of 2006 and is a Half Whittler just under 3.5". I like the long Turkish Clip and the Coping mix. The 66 Slims are right up my street, sturdy but in no way bulky and I think the Red sawn bone should appear on other knives too, remarkable effort. (get one while you can).

Gary: Thanks for those interior shots, I need to set some up too.
Charlie: That CASE looks like a BOMB, fantastic all ovuh!
Frank: The Queen reminded me of another single, their Muskrat in ACSB. I reckon Muskrats 'should' be single-spring, Canoes too!
Jeff: Now let's see that Böker?? Ah yes The Tip bolsters on that other one is something GEC need to take a shot at...
Christian: Well I lean to singles too but that's the genius of the single-spring let's you have it both ways.

Thanks too for all the comments. Here's an Old Rem to mull over. Regards, Will

I'm learning I like single springs too, for all the reasons mentioned above. I only have two worth showing and my pictures won't do them justice, they might even detract from this thread.:o:D Here goes, anyway.

This 'modified muskrat' has a full size wharncliffe and (Turkish/ California?) clip fit into one thick spring.

Nothing like a svelte single spring. Great idea for a thread, Will!

That Oeser's a jewel Mike!

Gev, the Old Hands show real beauty (is that Cell on that Schrade because it even looks like horn?) but that Woodlouse enjoys living dangerously:D:eek:

Very fine Jack! Tip bolsters need to be offered again by modern makers in my view.

Thanks Will, I fully agree my friend  Talking of which, that is particularly lovely Remington in your post :)
