Sk-4.7!!!

I am excited about the SK! 4.7... And this line period. My question, is the SK! Line to Survive similar to SR 101 in Busse world? An more economical version so more people can have a chance to purchase a knife? I am excited to see what this steel is and how it holds an edge. We cut open silage bales every day on the farm, and that dulls blades like nothing else I've found.... So we get to compare edge wear as part of daily life... Can't wait for some updates as this goes public.
 
You got it, Brian. Between materials and only choosing between 2 handle colors for options, this line is easier to get out to customers and more cost effective. I share your excitement!!!!!

Agreed, I'm hoping this becomes my go to gateway knife suggestion
 
Did anyone ever hear about how long the test period is? Is there an end date for those testing the sk beta knives?

On instagram it says:

And the production schedule indicates possible April availability... I haven't seen any pics/videos of test-knives yet, so I'm guessing that they are still working on getting them out... Maybe we'll start seeing pics next week? I'd guess the steel-type announcement will be late-April or beginning of May with availability same time. Just a guess *shrug*
 
This is exciting news!
I hope that the lucky recipients will use them right and please share the feedback!
These giveaway knives deserve their own special thread!
 
Have any of they mystery 4.7s showed up in the wild yet? I wasn't sure if names were being picked, or if that was done and they were being shipped. I think I missed a detail...

I'm pretty sure SURVIVE! picked the recipients awhile ago, but it's going to be a secret right up until they receive a knife. I haven't heard of anyone getting on yet, but instagram said that some are shipping soon with the rest close behind!
