Pretty sad, although not entirely unexpected... just received an email from SK Blades saying they were finished and out of business. Sounds primarily like Buck no longer has a place for "small businesses". This, plus some of the speculation here and there about "cleaning out the warehouse"... hmmm...🤔

I got the email. shame as he had some great stuff made over the years for us. he asked if we wanted to send email to Buck asking them to reconsider nicely of course. he included a VP of sales email. not sure i should post that here so im not gonna, but pm me if ya didn't get the email and would like a copy of it.

its Bucks business and im sure they know what they are doing, but shame to lose these custom made unique knives Steven came up with.

Yeah I just got that email too. Its a real shame. My most favorite and most carried Buck knives came from SKblades. They had a great ability to tweak an existing model that I wasnt interested in originally and change it ( blade steel, blade shape, etc) into something I wanted. I really hope Buck reconsiders this one.....

I got the email too, I was afraid this might happen. I know business has to adjust to be effective and efficient but I hope it won be permanent for small business. SKBlades put together some really good knives and I have 8 knives from sk that are among my favorite. I hope and wish all the best for SKBlades.

Kind of expected this, but I hate to hear it. Probably means the end of SFO's for DLT and C&C also. Maybe that's why C&C recently started selling Spydercos as well. I've bought several exclusives from all three. I wonder what other changes are coming to Buck? There are reasons I'm a Buck fan. Hope they don't deviate to far afield.

Wish Stephen the best going forward.

I have definitely notice the changes recently...from the 500 run BOTM's, Joe Houser retiring, No COA on limited run knives, Probably wont see any more knives like those that Joe designed...I wouldn't be surprised if the new leader changes up the Spa treatment...
thats a good point. we may see changes like ya mentioned on spa and such with new leadership in place tasked to make the place money.

Sad day for me and I would say any Buck fan as Steven made a wonderful effort to bring to life some beautiful unique variants to some classic Buck knives which is a brand I have much love for. I know that the last year has made it hard for Buck and SK to do the business they had been doing and we all hoped that this storm would pass and it could resume. I did not receive an email myself, which I thought I was setup to get them, so if one has it you can send it my way.

email info removed email received

Send an e-mail to the same guy that banned Mike from going into the store....?
Lol.

Ya better not use the e-mail associated with your Buck BCCI account.

I support Steve, but I think he would be better off doing business with a company that actually appreciates him.

It is a sad thing to see. Unfortunately, though, it’s a trend most of us have seen coming. With all the other changes recently and everything. I have slowed way way down on anything Buck, even secondary market. And I don’t like saying that at all. I will always love Buck and the Bucks I currently own but only time will tell how things play out.

Hey now maybe we’ll have “pre Joe” and “post Joe” knives (in context with the COA and bigger limited runs comment, coinciding with Joe’s retirement)

I'm sure sorry that things have worked out this way for Stephan and wish him the best going forward. I sure appreciated all the time and effort he put in on the Blade Forum 2018 301 knife. Major undertaking for his company...with no immediate financial gain on his part!

That right there is more than enough to make sure you take care of the small guy. Stephen worked his butt off and everything came out excellent!

jbmonkey jbmonkey & mbkr mbkr thanks I don't know which I received as so far only received 1 email but thanks to both of you and also if you could edit the post to remove even the clues to my email that would be appreciated
