Skeletool Yay or nay?

I have one, and personally like it. It doesn't replace a toolbox, it's just another folder that happens to have a pair of pliers when you need them.

Well executed idea, however, I have just about quit EDCing mine because the need for either a file or saw has risen more than once when all I had was the Skeletool. I like it for fishing because it clips to the belt loop on my shorts and doesn't way them down. But for most other outdoor activities I would pair it up with at least a SAK Farmer. It would probably make for a good urban EDC.

I still carry mine lots , great off duty tool. Have used it for all sorts of stuff.

I am still packing mine daily in my back pocket. It's just too handy not to have around. As a matter of fact, my father-in-law liked my CX so much that he bought a standard version of his own. He has always been a SAK kind of guy (Eagle Scout), but due to his chemotherapy, his nails have become too brittle and weak to fish out the SAK implements. The Skeletool is perfect for him. One handed blade, nice set of pliers for anything that work that he might run across, 4 screw drivers, and a pocket clip and weight that will ride comfortably without a belt case.

This. A more capable pocket knife.

Also, it's not the ideal first LM but is a great minimalist alternative when you can't carry your Charge. After failing yesterday, I successfully EDCd it at the gym today

I too have issues with the CX's combo blade so I ended up with plain SS model.

When I´m at home in my house: Charge Ti or Victorinox Handyman. When Leaving the house (at my officework): Skeletool! It´s a great - all that you really need- tool. It´s riding in my right front pocket.

For EDC the Skeletool is perfect. Simple, no BS, tool for personal use.
Reserve the Wave/Surge/ Core tools for TEOTWAWKI ;)

I like my CX so much, I keep it in my jacket pocket, now that the weather is getting cooler. In warm weather, it will probably end up clipped to a belt loop.

I like the idea of lightweight screwdrivers and pliers, which is what I used to carry separately before multitools came out. All the other tools added since are great but drivers and pliers are basic. I'm even considering their driver assortment.

Normally I turn to a LM XE-6 or Swisstool Spirit but I only carry them if I have a specific job in mind.

Yeah, I work as a pool man. I used to have a supertool, cell phone and holster, flashlight and holster and all of that stuff was constantly dragging my pants down. I decided to lighten up my load. I got a smaller phone, got a smaller flashlight, and put the supertool in a drawer and replaced it with a skeletool cx. I mostly use the pliers and the screwdriver and sometimes the blade. For what it does it works well. It really is light.

Bull Winkle, you sound like me. :)

I picked up this Woolrich Elite Series Tactical Pocket Organizer and now carry my cellphone, Skeletool CX, and Surefire E1 in it. In the velcro-closed pocket I keep bandaids and alcohol pads. (Hey, I'm a clumsy knife knut.)

I carry the Skeletool every day now. REALLY handy. This is all never too sharp's fault for awarding it to me because my threats were more intimidating than the others. No, don't ask, I know it doesn't make much sense, it doesn't have to.

A buddy of mine closed his outdoor above ground pool with just a Skeletool and a large screwdriver . He has lots of tools , just didn't feel the need .

Mine is the only Leatherman I still carry . Victorinox tools have turned my Leathermans into drawer queens . (aided somewhat by Leathermans easily lost new fangled bit system )
