Sketchen Scales Customs

:thumbup:And the contours, edges nice and smooth flawless. Just feels like a new knife. And I have no problem using the hole to thumb it open.

Thanks for the comments guys! The material is ivory snake juma, one of my favorites. Tasmaniac yours is the one in front and its heading out now.

Just awesome stuff man. Overall beauty, fit and finish all look fantastic. I would love to have you do several of mine one day in the long distant future lol.

What is the texture like for the 'ivory snake juma'? Does it actually have those 'scale' like textures or is that an optical illusion i am seeing in the photo.

Thanks Aerian!

The juma has a smooth texture. I wet sand to 400grit for the ivory snake, which removes all visible scratches but leaves a slightly chalky feel and gives a good grip.

Just finished this ironwood domino. I'm working on a matching scale for its little brother, the dice. They'll make a great pair!

Just got my Ivory Snake juma Southard and it is beyond description. Just absolutely stunning.

Wow, your scales are making me reconsider the Southard and the Domino. Very, very nice. That ironwood burl is intoxicating. Do you do carbon fiber, too?

Thanks Tasmaniac!

DallasSTB, the ironwood burl is much better in person too! So much depth to that wood. I could always put some on a different model too...

I don't work with carbon fiber, but check out shepardcc if that's what your looking for. He seems to have about every type of CF out there and does fantastic work with it.

Finally got some more shop time.
