Spyderco Air with black linen and natural linen westinghouse micarta. Black g10 liners.
This knife with scales is available. Air is new in box except for being used to test fit one other set of scales. $300 shipped in the US for the package.
Thanks! This one is en route to its new owner. ;-)
Westinghouse was the original micarta manufacturer. They stopped producing it around 1990 or so (might be off on that date) This original stuff looks different from modern micarta and is getting pretty scarce.
"Linen" refers to the fine fibers used that look like linen. "Canvas" micarta has coarser fibers and resembles canvas. I recall reading that both are actually cotton though, at least in modern production.
There is also paper micarta and ivorite which have no "grain" and look smooth.
I'm probably a bit partial, but I think the scales you do on Gayle Bradley knives add more to the knife than any others. They are all awesome, but the factory scales are so funky on the GB. They look so much better with a nice set of your scales.
Looks real nice polished up! There was a light stripe in an even layer on one side of the slab. I took advantage of that and used it to create a faux liner. Turned out great!
