Hi Stomper -

I would be in for overnight if someone wanted to camp -

Skills? I can show how to fill a sippy-cup with "spicy apple juice". :D

I will bring my Knatchet and Camp/Survival kit with me.

I look forward to the trip!

best regards -

mqqn

I am planning to stay overnight, just figured we would try to come up with the number of people that want to camp overnight, and I can call to make the reservations all at the same time. I'm not real sure how you have to pay right yet but, I guess I will work that out when we figure out who is staying overnight.

Well, it looks like we will all only be staying at Starved Rock for the day on the 20th of November. I just went on the site to try and reserve a site. They are all booked up already for that weekend. I don't see anywhere else to go so, it will just be a day trip, unless somebody knows something I don't.

I hope we still do something! I just started on a brand new design knife for myself, that I want to bring to let you guys try out. If it`s just the one day maybe Mathieson or Buffalo Rock might be better, not as crowded. Or we could do Channahon, the place by the chimney is off the main trail.

That sounds fine to me John! You pick the place and that's where we will go! Can we do campfire at Channahon? Is that some place where we will have to be out of at a certain time? Is there a picnic area? Can we cook lunch and supper there? I will go along with whatever everyone wants, I'm very flexible too! Just let me know!

Oh yeah, that looks like a great place! Again, do we have to be out by a certain time or what? Can we start out early and end up late? Can we cook or do we have to pack a picnic lunch and supper with us?

After November you need to be out by 5pm.
There are grills and firepits to cook on.
There is a camping area, but you can`t leave your car there.

Maybe we should check it out next week? It`s only about 15 miles from me. Or maybe go to Buffalo like mqqn suggested, it`s close to Starved Rock, and Mathieson. Does Mathieson have a camping area? I`ll try to find out.

No Mathieson doesn't have a campground! I already checked. Buffalo has a campground but isn't that the one that you have to hike into, there is no car access to the campground I think is what I read. I'll check on the Buffalo place and again and get back to ya!

Yeah, it looks like we will only be going for the day, so either place will work. Somebody just throw a dart and pick one, and that is what we will do. Just have to go with the flow!

We could always do some serious survival training and go to Pilcher Park in Joliet. They keep finding dumped bodies there!

Wouldn't that be concidered more gerrilla warfare? That sounds like our knives might now be quite enough to protect us! Might need a little more power! Aww! Aww!

OK! Why don't we just make it Buffalo Rock, All Dayer, Saturday the 20th, everyone bring their own picnic lunch and we will just do what we can with the time that we have! That work for everyone? And Yeah John, maybe we can run by that way and check the place out a bit while I am down your way next week? I will probably come early anyway.

I've pretty much looked at every place down there that has campgrounds and they are all booked up. I don't know what is going on that weekend but, it must be something big some place! Looks like it will just be a one day thing! It kind of looks like every place down in that area is going to be busy! Is that considered the last weekend that you can go camping or something! Ha! Ha!

I think we will make it at Buffalo Rock. Everyone agree with this? I want to be sure we can build a fire and do some chopping, can we do this stuff there? I`ve never been there, mqqn - what do you know about this?
