Skookum Bush Tool

Skookum means something good in general.

Nice clean lines on that knife-- all cut, no fluff. Kind of a mora on steriods, isn't it.

Well, I fell in love with the Skookum and as already mentioned Rod is a great guy to deal with. I've already ordered mine and hope to have it when I redeploy in November. I decided on O1 and tan Micarta handles. We're planning several camping/hiking trips when I return...plenty of time to put her to the test:D

I saw the OMF review sometime ago and it does look to be a well-executed and contructed piece on Kochanski's thoughts.

Ordered mine last week. Green canvas micarta in A2. Can't wait to get it!!!

Need I say more? Rod truly has distilled Kochanski's thoughts into steel. You won't be disappointed with this knife. I am really looking forward to getting out in the bush! Truly first rate. Mac

Damn that's Sweet! As far as a time line. Rod said it was around 5-7 weeks. Obviously that could change with demand!

Another nice one! You guys gotta post some pics and review out in the bush. I really like that welded on butt plate, looks bomb proof.

You never know when your mouse will turn on you--- better to have some protection close at hand :D

In BC , Skookum means powerful , commonly used to describe a strong person or when something is built for strength

The sheath for the SBT is a very well made neck sheath but has no provision for attaching it to the belt. Neck carry makes sense in northern latitudes when the beltline is covered up under layers of clothes. Here in the tropics it makes more sense to carry it on the belt. It won't be exposed to so much sweat.

I made up a simple frog out of leather to carry the original sheath. The backside is just a regular belt loop. It's a bit tight right now but it seems to work just fine. The leather will relax a bit.

I punched holes at the top of the frog to match the original holes on the SBT sheath. It was so simple a caveman could do it.

I do plan to treat the leather to match the color of the original sheath and give it a measure of weather resistance. Mac
