Sledge Hammers!

Looks like someone re-forged a ball pein.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was something modified, Square_peg.

Maybe. But the area that the eye goes through looks like it would not be that shape for a ballpein that would have had the low mass that this one does. And it is unlikely that that much extra mass would have been squeezed down and cut off. Interesting.

I wish the previous owner was around to ask. What pattern do you think he was shooting for?

Here's all of my humble collection of sledges.

More pics. Sorry 'bout the blurry last pic. Anyone know what the ACOP S.F. means, or what the 4 and 8 markings are for on the spike maul. Hint hint Warwood Tactical.

Found this NOS little feller in a box, in the larger attic here, that my grandfather had thrown miscellaneous hardware, screws, nuts and bolts into. I found it back about 6 years ago and promptly hung it from a nail in a beam in my basement.

Noticed it again last week, brought it up and out into the light.
...and promptly stuck him in a drawer of my tool box after these pics for a future cleaning up lol!

I had this head and I had this handle. They belong together.

Real nice, you don't see Champion Dearment hammers very often.
I think I've only seen one Channellock Hammer , let alone a Champion Dearment from before they took on the name of the tool they were known for.
