The handle looks like it was made for a slick or cedar spud. But your eye is round (strangely) so maybe they were meant for each other.

Soft wood?Seriously, that's a gem.

T.K. took care of that hammer.
Absolutely a great tool with a great etch and lineage.
Any stories about TK accompany that handsome fella?

I thought about it but a wiser man recommended that I don’t ask about the “TK” as a good previous owner story might cost more![]()
Those are special and unusual hammers.Upon carefully inspecting this cool saw hammer I realized it has, although scarcely visible, the same Simonds etching asAgent_H dog head hammer.

The head was on upside down so I rehung it and fed her some BLO.
I was going to put a round wedge into it but decided to hold off for fear it would split the handle. Besides, it’s not like I’m going to start hitting things with it.

The handle has well defined contouring from use and both faces are in real nice shape.

Thanks for appreciating such things.
Shaped so he grabbed it at the same location each time, no look. That is a hammer meant for an experienced hand precision work for sure.
It's good to see someone here take an interest in them brands.

The three marked with P6 and P7 seem to be registered to Prairie Wood Products, Prairie City, Or.

The guy who sold them to me said they were from the Warm Spring Reservation. The reservation is relatively nearby and I envision that one of a few different possibilities...
