I just watched Dawn Of The Dead so that explains the thread

Alright I thought it would be a interesting thread. Alright heres the scenario. You wake up one morning turn on the news and find out theres wide spread chaos zombies are over running your state  . Unfortunately this is your bad day because it is only happening in your state, they have built temporary barriers around the state with checkpoints in which are peoples only escape who are not infected. Know your given time to leave the state is 3 days / 2 of those days are going to be needed to travel to the checkpoint, before they fry everything in sight from planes. Your state surroundings are mainly suburban and wooded area so you have to prepare for both city and forest environments (thought I would throw a curve there). The zombies you will be facing are not fast but slow walking zombies remember they do not get tired so don't slack off thinking you outdistanced them, and only head injury's are a guaranteed kill while other injury's will only slow it down. It will be warm outside, nights get cold and you will have rainy weather to make things worse. Trying to use a vehicle on the roads will be difficult due to destruction so your main choice of travel will have to be on foot.

You need to bring what you can to survive for that time frame the limits are listed below.

- 1 Fixed Blade

- 1 Folding Blade

- Type of Clothing / Armor ( remember you don't want to be accidentally bitten so make sure you are suited up from head to toe)

- However many guns you can carry w/ ammo

- 1 Backpack of supplies you would bring (list items)

(REMEMBER YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO CARRY EVERYTHING AND STILL BE ABLE TO OUTRUN THE THREAT IF NEEDED)

I cary my Busse Hell razor,my speed bump for fast deployment. All tight fitting clothing so nothing to snag my clothes on or for a zombie to grab.I'd favour stealth as opposed a stand-up fight.I'd pack my 9mm wih 1 round.Cause I'm not waking up when I go(also due to the fact the Canadian government and leo's are phobic of their citizens carying guns.Surviving doesn't do me any good if I'm locked up).my day pack with foods I didn't need to cook.(energy bars ect.)my cammlebak and my cantene with my filtration pump.Be light and fast.

Hmmm, half a pack of cigarettes, sunglasses, and a crow bar ought to do the trick.

After careful consideration, a hip flask of 100 year old whiskey, some beef jerkey, and a extra large mocha (hold the whip cream) will also be necessary.

well I think I'd carry my gerber hydration pack with the molle rig full of bourbon and cola, a RAT7 attached upside down on the pack, a cricket bat (I love Shaun of the Dead) and a cyanide pill in my collar

Well, since I am allowed two fixed blades I would go with a Katana (13" tsuka, and 31" blade) and a Wakizashi (Japanese long and short sword "Daisho").

The backpack would be outfitted with some basic supplies such as food, poncho/tarp, Fallkniven F1(sorta cheating :p), lighter, more food, cookware, TP, Rope, Flaregun.

As for fire-arms I would carry a Semi-Auto Remy 7400 .30-06 and a Beretta 92FS with a ton of clips.

:D :D :D

and a couple of good cigars...I don't really smoke but half a pack of cigarettes go with the sunglasses, especially at night.

But after a few hundred zombie dispatches, I figure a good cigar would be earned. I mean should I really care at that point, zombie meltdown, that a cigar will harden my arteries for an hour or more? I think not!

My SAK Copper Cadet

My Tramontina Machete

A USAS-12 Semi Auto Shotgun

A few hundred shells of OO Buck shot & 1 oz Slugs

A rock in my shoe to do the fake zombie walk from Shaun of the Dead

I live in California, we're already overrun with zombies  I like the scenario, but I'll only play the game if my hand gets cut off and I can replace it with a chainsaw.

Screw all this equipment BS; I'd just bring along my Ex-wife. :D
'Soon as they'd get a taste of her, they'd be doin' their "zombie shuffle" in the opposite direction ASAP !
- Just kidding, Honey. (in case your attorney is reading this.)

Out of the stuff I own or have immediate access to (my house, my grandparent's house, or local gun store):

Fixed blade -- USMC KaBar (worn on belt, right side)
Folding knife -- Leatherman Kick (worn on belt, left side)
Clothes (aside from tank top, undershorts and socks)-
-- dark long sleeved t-shirt
-- dark blue jeans
-- belt
-- tough olive drab jacket (I'd like to see a zombie bite through THAT)
-- woodland cammo boonie hat with chin strap
-- pair of green SUG gloves with the index fingers cut off (all the better for pulling triggers)
Gun-
--Springfield XD with 5 inch barrel in .45 ACP with 200 rounds loaded in spare magazines. (worn in XD holster on belt on right had side) from gun store (they won't need it considering they would be getting incinerated in the next 3 days.)
Other stuff-
-- 3AA Maglite (worn on left side on belt)
-- Cell Phone (worn on left side on belt)
-- Wallet (carried in right butt pocket)
--keys (carried in Vietnam-era compass pouch on belt on right side)
-- butane lighter in left front pocket
Note-- ammo, water, and food go in backpack

Oh yeah, now I can say I posted to a zombie thread!!:D

Here are the top things I'd want to have:

10/22 with light folding stock and a brick of ammo and some big-ass clips
92FS on a shoulder holster
multi-tool
ASP baton
big Strider knife
Kevlar flight gloves and as much Kevlar clothes I can get a hold of
food, water, etc.

That's probably all a person a reasonably carry and move. I have to say that the guys that want to carry twin pistols should give it a try some time. Large capacity guns aren't as necessary either.

If I had others in my crew, here are the top items I'd want them to have:
870 with lots of shells
AK-47 with lots of clips full of ammo
sharp katana

10/22 with light folding stock...

I personally feel that 22 cal. is rather light for zombies, but to each his own.

From stuff that I actually posess, I would go with my CS Bushman and then either my Opinel #12 or my Waved Endura. For a gun the best that is available is only a bolt action Springfield 30-06.
