Slimy *ucking Thief

It sucks. Ripping off others design is pretty common practice and has been discussed on BF many times. There are too many people who see no problem with it if they think they can save a couple of bucks.

I doubt it will ever happen but you should be able to copyright a knife design just as easily and get all of the protection that you would with a photograph or painting but that's not the way it is. Design patents are expensive and virtually worthless.

What an effing cockgobbler. That's just amazingly brazen. Hopefully he meets the front end of a bus soon. Let us know if paypal does anything, though they probably wont' since they're useless.

JNK is logo speak for "JUNK"

says he's been selling to the Arab's
look out daddy

I got an apology, and assurance that he will not be making more this morning!!!

Thanks mostly to you guys!

You do know how solid an appology and a promise from a lieing, POS thief is.....

Still. How can I not take him at his word?

I find it ironic that he won't sell to anyone in the UK. Apparently you can make knives there, but the liability is too high to actually sell them. Or are these not actually made in the UK - might be the best basis for an Ebay complaint if they're not.

When Timbo! was selling his own handmade knives here, we found he was actually having them made elsewhere. He was challenged to show a picture of his shop and promptly went into meltdown mode, cursed us out and quit. (And got banned.)

Many British knifemakers have no trouble selling their work there.

They are made in Pakistan or China. This was not a one off. He has agreed to stop the run. Thank God.

He was still on here as Sweet James and sold knives last week. His alter ego has now been banned by Esav:thumbup:

Check out the plank log, I got him again.
TheNiven has gone to join his other IDs ... in the belly of The Great White Shark!

I`m surprised it took him this long to copy you, he copied my little hatchet back in June or July! He emailed me wanting to "buy" it, and wanted to know about it. Next thing I know, he has 10 of them for sale, right down to the oak handles! I got an email from a guy on British Blades wanting to know if I was making them for him, they were so much alike.

Which is the part I find ironic. Sort of a tongue-in-cheek comment. There's some sweet blades I've seen from Britain, particularly in bushcraft-style knives. I've never pulled the trigger, because I have plenty of American stuff left too buy without the exchange rate or extra shipping penalties. It just struck me as a little fishy that his "made in Britain" blades are so adamantly not for sale to anyone in the UK (at least on the Ebay listing the link goes to).:cool:

That's eBay policy, not British law. They can and do buy pretty much any knives they like.

I've yet to get a response from my question I posted on eBay to the seller... I'm pretty sure I won't hear anything back.

I was contacted by a customer recently who alerted me to a British maker that is copying my designs, curve for curve. Just thought you guys should be warned that James Noble will steal your work!

He actually had the nerve to post on BF asking what the sheath would look like.

What a slimy thieving looser!

These two listings have ended early, no bids. BUT he still has other folks designs up. Report them as well. I don't know if our stink caused him to pull them or ebay did. The two we reported are ended.
Jim

That's pretty low to outright copy designs but it seems that there is a history of it for this guy.

As part of his apology to Andy he mentions that he was selling the prototypes because they cracked during heat treat and needed the money to buy steel for another batch. I notice that de didn't mention the cracked steel in his Ebay ad.

I reported all of his listings that I knew to be copies after Andy first provided the link. I don't know if it did any good, but I don't think it hurt either.
