Slip joint lube of choice

You guys recommend a particular oil on your slip joints to prevent galling? Anything you trust to stay put for a long while?
 
When I am making slipjoints I use dry graphite powder and a drop or two of oil....any oil...even baby oil works. The graphite is then evenly distributed and no galling occurrs. After you have worked the knife 40-50 times you can clean out completely and then relube with one small drop oil making sure it hits the area where spring and blade touch. No oil works when things aren't right. Some guys use grease for a first fit up...but the graphinte and oil work for me well.

I use benchmade blue lube, it works well for me. However, it doesn't last too long.
 
Usually I use 3-In-1 or Hoppies gun oil. I have in a pinch out in the boonies, used a few drops of oil from the dip stick on a jeep.

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm thinking this would be great. I use it on my motorcycle chains and it doesn't attract (accumulate) dirt, stays really clean.

Chris for the pivot Kleanzoil , hands down. Everything else lemon oil
 
3 in 1 has always been my choice for joints, used sparingly. Mineral oil on blades.

RemOil on the blades and Royal Purple SynOil on the joints.
 
Baby Oil, which is Mineral Oil, which is food safe.
I dampen a toothbrush with the oil, and apply it into the joints and on the blades
 
Mineral Oil: Switched to using it after reading BFC and trying it out for myself.
 
Ballistol or Mineral Oil. I avoid anything with Silicone. If you use a knife for Food Prep,silicone tastes horrible.
 
I prefer dry lubes that do not attract and hold debris (especially pocket lint). Currently, it's Tuf-Cloth for the blades and Tuff-Glide for the joints.
 
I clean my guns/knives with Mobil 1 full synthetic 10w30. 1 quart is a lifetime supply. I figure it does everything well as far as high heat, high friction, high pressure, water repellant. Anything I have used it on works smooth. And honestly it is really cheap if gun and knife lube is your purpose.
