Slysz Bowie discontinued!!

Looks like these are almost all gone. Do not see any in stock at any of the usual places...

GP has them still...only one I can see with MAP pricing. At least one other above MAP.

**I really think we will see these restocked by mid November though.

Perhaps small time flippers and speculators did a last minute run on these in addition to those genuine fans who were sitting either on the fence or wanted to add more t their collection before they were all gone! Maybe they will be re-stocked for a sales price circa Black Friday / Cyber Monday but I will not be holding my breath. I will however be waiting to see what Marcin Slysz may come up with in collaboration with Spyderco, something which is not in a "bowie style" blade and in better steel than CTS-XHP which is a D2 variant.

I wonder if prices will go up instead of down on this one. I've been eyeballing it for a while, perhaps I need to grab it before it's gone. It appears that AMZ has retailers which still carry it, and AMZ themselves have an expected arrival date posted, though I'd imagine they could indeed cancel that eventually.

There are also vendors waiting for the discontinued Domino and have been taking pre-orders for it. My friend is on the hook for 5 and they are not for resale he got them for his friends to have at the same price.

To the horror of some, I must inform those who are interested that Walmart (yes bloody WM!) seems to have the S.B. in stock online at the MAP. Problem is that they do charge local taxes in most States but they also offer a $35 off if you apply and qualify for their credit card brining the effective price to lower than the MAP in most cases. Good luck.

Thanks guys, you just made me buy one. I need to see what all of the hubbub is about.

Wal-Mart! That seems so strange.

Not really, they have the buying power and warehouse space for almost anything. I get what you mean though! :)

Wal-Mart! That seems so strange.

I used to find it strange too, but here is the surprising good type of caveat as opposed to Amazon:

You can arrange for store pickup if there's one near you and open the knife right there and then and any sign of prior molestation / a prior customer use & return, just decline delivery and get back your money.

P.S. I applied for their own MasterCard and qualified but instead of the Slysz Bowie, I went with the Spydiechef which I have had my eyes on (better EDC for me for specific kitchen tasks, not to be taken as me dumping on the Slysz Bowie!) which Wally gave me a further $6.91 discount for picking up in person at a store 5 miles away (perhaps already in their store so presumably saves them shipping?). So with the added sales tax, deduction for PU credit and then $35 off since I paid with my newly qualified for Wally's Masrercard, my net effective cost should come to $170 and pennies on that Spydiechef. Not too shabby as I plan to pay the damn thing off after I have used their "free' money offer to flat me for 21-28 days beyond the statement cycle.

Just to keep scores even: the in-store pickup credit offer was not available for Slysz Bowie, not that was really a motivation for me since my nosing around was not about me getting the S.B, but good luck to those who are looking to score a S.B. before they vanish altogether.
