A recent delivery. An especially nice piece of ancient walrus, and Damascus mounts.
Blade is 1084/15N20 on either side of a Hitachi Blue #2 core.

Sheath with Shark skin insert.

Thanks for viewing...

Beautiful. That walrus works so well with the damascus and the proportions and lines of the knife are just perfect...

Beautiful piece, Russ. I don't remember you doing much San Mai previously. Very nice!

Thanks for sharing.

Russ,

That's a great looking knife!

As always your steel looks awesome.

Superb! Just a wonderful result, Russ. Who wouldn't want a small bowie like that! What are the numbers?

I really appreciate the comments.....Thanks.

The blade is 7" and roughly 350 layers....ladder, on either side
of the core.

Also....the rear ferrule is soldered to the cap, forming a cup.

Handle is a bit under 5".

Damascus for the guard, ferrules, and cap have lower counts toward the centers, for
accent.

Why do the photos look so heavily worked over? It (in my opinion) would look better without all the retouching. Don't get me wrong; knife looks awesome.
