Sale pending, thanks!
Well, I got the itch to re-blade a folder with some cable, so I pounded a piece out, cut it off, flattened it, drilled it, and realized I was about 1/16" short. Damn. Gotta start over.

So here for sale is something fun for someone to work on, a nice piece of cable damascus. Right at 3.5" long, and 1/8" thick. 3/8" pivot hole. I gave it a very brief etch just to show the pattern.

Gimme, I don't know, $25 for it, shipped.

Hi Whitewolf, welcome to Bladeforums!
To make the pattern show up, first you flatten and smooth the steel (this piece is about 400 grit), then you etch it by dipping it in acid.
I think the most common etchant (acid) used is ferric chloride, FeCl.
You buy is at Radio Shack labelled as "Circuit Board Etchant."
Hope that helps!
Mike
