Small Fixed Blade Suggestions

I'm looking for a small, chunky/stout 3" to 3 1/2" fixed blade for personal carry. Initially I was looking at the Entrek Badger, but see that the Entrek line doesn't seem to be available any longer. I have also looked at the Tops Delta Unit 3, but with 1/4" thick stock fear that might just too thick to be useful. Something close to a four finger grip is essential for me....any suggestions you might have for someone looking for a small fixed blade in the chunky/stout category? Thanks .

Checkout Esee. They’ve got a few models that would fit your specs. Bradford is another good suggestion. I have one of their G-neckers and, although I wouldn’t recommend that particular knife, I wouldn’t hesitate to try a Guardian.

I have the Tops, I don't feel the thickness is a downside. It's pretty slicey despite that, easy to edc and a little bit of a tank

Thanks, I appreciate hearing from someone who has used the Tops Delta Unit 3. I also appreciate the alternate suggestions above from the rest of you good gents.

Bark River North Country is my recommendation depending on your price bracket of course. Here is a couple of mine in Cpm154 blade steel with desert ironwood burl and a Amber Stag . They feel great in hand and come with a 2 position ride height option leather sheath. Life time warranty’s even if your crack the blade in half . Beautiful well made knives.

You seem to have pretty wide specifications. I would highly recommend taking some time to look at the custom knife makers “Fixed Blades for Sale” forum. There are many amazing values and lots of choices in that size range …

Also recommend Duck Childress on the Exchange, he has been making some nice ones with thicker handles lately.

I normally recommend the BK14 with the original scales, that is my go to small fixed knife. Does everything with ease and the blade shape is just amazingly universal.
Love that knife - sing it's praises all the time!
The BK14's grip would be perfect if it was a tiny bit longer, but it isn't.
So if your hands are size nine ish and you look to use the knife for an extended bit of time, the Esee Izula II is a very comfortable contender.

Regarding the Tops Delta 3: I've had that itch as well and scratched it:

Despite Its totally ridiculous thickness it is actually a versatile little knife - But here also lies the problem.
The scales are not well rounded and blockish, so you won't have a hotspot free grip when using it for a while.
I get hotspots after 20 min of continuous use.

If you want to use the knife regularly get something with a more ergonomic shape.

There is the :
1. Terävä Jääkäripuukko 85 - Small knife with a great rubber handle and also a stout little fellow.
2. Esee 3 Hm - That is a still small knife but with a amazingly ergonomic handle.
3. Esee Izula 2 - very well known and a good candidate
4. Spyderco Streetbeat LW - If you like the cutout in the handle - Good stout knife
5. Spyderco Enuff Series - Good ergos and cutting like a laser...

There are many more that were already mentioned

I've also been taking a look at rugged, small fixed blades and the Boker Plus PryMate Pro designed by Jesper Voxnaes has definitely caught my attention.
