Small Folder Advice...

If you can find an aluminum scaled Salsa, they are excellent knives that cut way beyond their 2.5" blade length. I also like the Kiwi for dressier occasions. Mine is the one with the bone scales, but the less expensive stainless steel version is also very nice.

Poliwog, for sure : unique knife, extra comfortable, native style blade and the rest is in the pic...

Very nice Lanyard...

Purchased or made?

These are what I am considering:
Lava
Spin
Poliwog
Cricket
TIA

I own a Spin, Cricket, and a Jester. I trade off between carrying the Spin and Cricket. If I had to pick one, I would go with the Cricket. I wasn't real sure about the "reverse-S" blade, but I love it now that I have used it.

If you are going for a self-defense knife, then Lava would be the way to go. I wasn't looking for SD. The poliwog is very cool looking, but I didn't like the angle of the blade as I held it.

I really like the Dragonfly stainless plain. I use it as a money clip. My Native is not always the right knife to pull out in an office environment but the Dragonfly sure gets used alot.

I have the Jester, Spin, Cricket and Boker Subcom. Of these, I would pick the Cricket (serrated, of course) as it seems to be the perfect size, opens and closes easily, and cuts like a charm. I don't know about using any of these small blades for cutting food (fruit, etc) but for all of your other mentioned tasks, the serrated Cricket will perform well.

One more vote for the dragonfly. It is the best of the baby blades IMO.
