Small, High Quality, Feminine Folder

Spyderco Salsa is a pretty knife that came in colors that my wife likes a lot. I have a blue one.

She actually carries here Poliwog though.

Too bad you didn't ask this question when you could still buy the burgundy ZDP189 Calypso Jr. by Spyderco. That handle color seems to please a lot of woman as well as men.

You can get the Salt 1s and the Tasman Salt in yellow.

The Chives are pretty neat knives but my wife was scared of the one I got her. She didn't like it at all until I pulled the assisted opening spring out of it.

Isnt the chive a frame lock? I have misplaced mine but I think it is. I havent had a problem with my lock up and I thought frame locks were more highly regarded than liner locks...not a whole lot of help...just nitpicking a little ;)

How about the bladetech Mouse II? Don't get much more high end than that...G10 scales, S30V blade, two inches. Just a good lil folder...I really want one.

The Chive is a Framelock yes. Usually frame locks are going to have thicker locks over the liner lock, but the real advantage and difference in them over a liner lock is that the lock is exposed completely and out in the open. With no handle scale on it to block your hand you can actually help to keep a frame lock from defeating and even push it into the blade tang farther to make it lock up more securely just from you grip when using the knife. This is especially true during heavy or 'white knuckling' use.

If you look at most frame locks there is a cut out or swedge in the back somewhere that aids in helping to make the bend in the lock. (the weakest link in the chain so to speak.) It doesn't hurt anything but it does bring the lock to liner lock thickness in that one spot. However this small weakness in the lock is outweighed by the fact that the blade and lock up has more surface area contacting each other and the grip thing mentioned above.

Pocketknife ("slipjoint", as you young people call them), or lockblade?
Clip or not?
Single or multiple blades?

You mentioned "color". TONS of color choices from Case:

Get one that matches her eyes! Green, blue, whatever.

Baby blue?

Rose?

Or a zebra striped one, like this one:

Even its name is cute: "Baby Butterbean"!

How about this beauty?

.most of my girlfriends have ordered one in tanto...girls like tantos too.
You mean your imaginary girlfriends, right?

Most women DO NOT like tantos. If you don't believe me, go into any knife store and ask, or call an online retailer.

My 17 year old daughter likes SAKS, I just found out the other day that she's been accumulating a bunch of cheap little SAK type knives. I gave her a Vic SAK a few years ago and I guess she was more interested than I thought.

My 15 year old daughter likes those ugly fantasy daggers and a Laguiole folder I gave her a few years ago.

This is my second girlfriend to order a minigrip tanto in a year. They definitely do like Tantos. For my ex, you can look up posts that exclaim things like "I love tantos!" or some such from her.

Linzoy. Everyone of those companies has 0 left in inventory. That knife is going to be very hard to find now. I know two or three guys wanting one and they can't find any. There were only 1500 made total to begin with on that one.

And those that have them won't part with them. ;) :D

I would check out the Al Mar Osprey. Pretty little knives with many handle material options. I would post pictures but I don't seem to have that capability. You can see the Osprey versions on www.AlMarKnives.com.

Yikes! 96 bucks and it hasn't met the reserve? I think I'll but my burgundy Calypso away as an investment.:barf: :barf:

Cabela's D2 minigrips are available at local Cabela's at a good price (and ONLY Cabela's)

Normal minigrips can be found at www.newgraham.com for something like 55

My new minigrip comes in today (from newgraham).

She already has a green Ladybug, but he wants to get her something she can use for a decent sized cutting task, and will fill out her hand better. Remember, guys, the price has to be around or lower than $75, and it can't be some black coated man knife.
