Small Inkosi Pocket Clip Issue?

Just received my first CRK Small Inkosi Insingo with black Micarta! Love it but from what I've seen in pictures it seems the pocket clip is bent outwards further than most?

It seems like that first area of the clip from the screw to the divot is typically flat but on mine you can see it is angled outwards.

The tension on the clip is also ridiculously tight

Could anyone post a picture with the same angles?

Is this normal?

Is this new or used? The clip looks like it has been re-arced on the second bend from the clip screw..that area at the second bend is usually almost parallel with the scale.

You can flatten the clip- If I was to take on that task, I would put paper or something under the end that touches the scale opposite the screw and step on it a bit. That will push it down more towards what it should be.
Then I would take the end that opens and pull up a bit to get the tension I wanted. The clips can be bent without ruining them..you just can't do it alot as the metal will fatigue.

Pic as requested. Taken within the last few minutes. I bought this one brand new as well.

That seems to be the new normal. Both the clip on the carbon fiber small inkosigo I recently got and the replacement clip I ordered direct from CRK were both like that. I rebent both.

Interesting, thanks for the replies. Mine is a Black Micarta Small Inkosi Insingo FYI, don't have the birth date with me but I'll look when I get home.

I called Tamara at Recon 1 who I bought the knife from and sent her a picture and she was very confused that it had a clip like that. Said she had not seen one like that.

She is sending me a new clip out today.

As an aside, Recon 1 was great to buy from and excellent customer service

HST HST I sold one and bought a new clip for the buyer.

Replaced the clip on another thinking that somehow I had bent the clip ( Do not remember applying excessive pressure while removing either of the clips ).

Purchased another for myself. Below is a pic of the one I replaced with the new clip attached :

Essentially I am out $30 but since I'm in Australia sending them back would cost a fair bit as well. Not extremely happy but not sure what I can do.

I have put a bandana over the clip (after removed of course) and used pliers to make a few clips a bit tighter. This is no problem at all brother trust me. Not saying you would, but there are some people that would send that back to the factory and this makes me damn near die of laughter hahaha

Meant sending the clips back for a replacement. I can bend them back to shape ( with a very slight chance of maybe damaging the clip ) but don't think I should have to.

Really, if it's that big of a deal, send CRK an email with the pictures and explain the situation. I'm sure they will take care of you.

Hmmm! Thought you paid a premium for tight tolerance and quality control? New normal?

New normal is an interesting way of describing it.
Here is the deal on the clips- They are formed in a die from blanks. To get that shape would be next to impossible out of the die.
Who knows where that happened and under what circumstances.

There isn't a problem until there is a problem and when there is a problem, it's shouted from the rooftops.
Seriously- Call CRK or email them and it will get resolved.

Agreed.... just better to bend it a bit as opposed to having a clipless knife for a few weeks as opposed to waiting on a new one in the mail.

No biggie for me. My problems sorted. Purchased new clips.

Although, with new CRK purchases I will ask the dealer to check before they ship. Being in Australia is cost prohibitive as far as shipping anything back to the states is concerned.

A few months back I received a new off centered Damascus Mnandi. Shrugged it off as I plan on using it.

I love CRK’s and am a loyal customer but these two QC issues are not something that I would have expected.
