I voted to accept. Do I get a prize because I have already completed it? I generally have two knives on me, a tiny folder on my keys and a Spyderco Chapparal. I haven't carried or used anything larger in years. (With the exception of food prep.) The biggest folder I own is sub 3 inch, albeit just barely. A viper sowbelly in stag. (2 and 15/16ths inches according to the specs.)

Grizz

My blazing yellow Spyderco Enuff Sheepsfoot SE is looking at me, daring me to carry only it for a month. A knife with a 2.75 inch blade looks cartoonish in my hand but I'm curious if I can make it work.

Hmm....
Could be eye opening 🤔
I detested so much this idea not too long ago that I bought 2 spyderco Resilience(s) just to scoff at the idea, resist and fight the power and idle in protest, I found that those spydercos were pocket selfish and needed their own room like a grown little kid, with large wifellde blades - I finally accepted and downsized soon after.

I am not going to accept (sorta) because I usually carry knives under 3" anyway. Personally, I find that between 2-3/4" and 3" is the ideal blade size for me. It works great for most any task I need my knife to do. When I carry a knife much over 3", I can't help but get a feeling that it is "too big"
Actually, same thing with a knife blade under 2-1/2", I realize it will probably be fine for most things but I cannot get over the feeling that it is too small
Between 2-3/4 and 3 inch seems to be the sweet spot for me.

This is the little knife challenge. For one month, you have to only use [any] knife that is less than 3 inches for all your
day to day cutting/edc tasks.
there is a twist however: every time you find that 2.9 inches isn't enough, you MAY use something longer, but you HAVE to write it down. At the end of the month long challenge, count how many times you had to use a knife longer than 2.9 inches and post it on the thread
Exceptions apply:
1. Food prep and cooking
2. Outdoor gardening
3. Game dressing
Does it have to be ONLY one knife? Or can we carry more than one of the under 3" size? Currently I'm carrying 4, all under 3"

I'll accept it but I've gotten into great eastern cutlery so it won't be hard.
Been looking for one, I know where to buy them new but they are charging a lot. So I buy vintage slipjoints on ebay and can't say I'm too --- disappointed, currently waiting on a Wenger esquire

This wouldn't even be challenging in any way, if any chose to participate. Especially since you already excluded food prep and game processing.

A sub 3" blade would easily handle 99% of daily tasks for 99% of the population.

I may join in. I typically carry around 3 inch blades but jump up to 3.25 at times. Currently have my Delica in pocket.

Vintage slipjoints are pretty comparable, I agree, GEC is pretty expensive. I have to slow down on purchases currently... Great smaller carry, absolutely most of them will fit the under 3 inch carry but I suppose that goes for all traditionals.

I carry my work issued Klein 2.5” sheepfoot 5 days at week for work. Won’t be much of a challenge to carry it another two days. Only temptation is gonna be that I just bought a nice GL Drew that needs attention.

Oh boy, how am I going to cut open all those Amazon packages with sub 3-inch knife??!?!?!?

But seriously, with those exceptions in place this is no challange.
The exceptions are there because someone would have chimed in with "what about, what about" and also, I don't expect anyone to dress a moose with a classic SD 😉
Also with gardening tools, most of them are longer than 3". It's still a challenge for some as Johnny power tool 6000 might have a hard time with it

I just bought a peanut CV from case directly, should do the grand majority of what I need in a cutter. Some traditional knives are pretty large, I have no need for one, not a lot of cutting jobs require the full length of a 3"+ knife blade

I chose not to participate.

I fight Grizzlies (*to the death), six days a week, in a local "Octagon"...

I just don't see my little "The 55" getting much usage. Y'all have fun.
Ya know, there's probably an easier way to announce that you're dating again...

I voted myself out of this challenge as I really prefer to carry blades 3+ inches. But, i usually carry more than one at any time, so maybe I'm perfectly set up for the challenge.
