Spyderco chaparral is a great knife. Disappears in the pocket and so slicey! Like a folding razor blade.

I forgot about the odium. I bought my dad one last year and from what I recall it would meet the OP’s criteria very well. Good suggestion!

I got my dad a copper-scaled Elementum for his birthday. It has a 3” blade, but it’s plenty compact both in the hand and pocket.

"Medium" 3.25 to 3.5 inch closed Stockman (sorry, I don't have one. I prefer the 4 inch and larger) or a 3.75 inch closed Sowbelly stockman.

I’ve got an Elementum also but mine has orange scales. I‘ve seen the copper scaled version and they look really good. I felt like it was pushing the OP’s 2.5”ish blade length a little too much though. But, they are great little knives.
